directnic or godaddy?
is directnic worth the extra 6 bucks? im gonna be buying a lot of domains so it does add up. heard some things about godaddy i didn't care for tho i've had no problems myself. i've never used directnic but it seems to be what most adult webmasters prefer. whats your opinion?
|
enom, namecheap :winkwink:
|
I registered 2 domains thru godaddy a couple of months ago. I keep reading so many horror stories about them, so I think I'll move the domains to Dotster.com this week. I use Dotster since 2000 and never had a problem with it.
|
I had a billing error with godaddy charged me twice 8.95 for one domain.
I call them next day after charge hits my bank and they go - ah yeah you've been issued refund so don't worry about it. call them following week on wednesday the guy - goes no refunds have been issued i have no idea what you're talking about. at the same time he sees on the computer who i've talked to previously and goes over to him and ask him about it. comes back and says again there are no records of any refunds issued, we need to take a look at your bank statement. so i wait for it to arrive in the mail, since they won't accept my online bank statement. i call them up and they say this time - it's a bank error not us. by the time i was done with these stupid fucks i've almost raked in $8.95 in phone calls since they're so cheap and don't have an #800 i finally called my bank and they issued me credit pending investigation oh and when i told them if this isn't resolved i'll complain to VISA they threatened me to take away the domain name :321GFY |
I use www.registerfly.com

DIRECTNIC - good people who understand the adult market and actually have decent support.

Go with directnic.. godaddy sucks they are always trying to sell a shitload of things to you.
|
directnic... end of story. Worth every penny and if you buy directnic dollars and have a lot of domains you'll save.
|
Directnic.
|
if you're gonna end up with a lot of them, try bulkregister.com, ... not a bad price and good support
|
I use 4 registrars. DirectNIC and GoDaddy are both top companies.
I've had minor errors occur with both companies. In all cases the errors were corrected promptly and professionally without a hassle. GoDaddy will assign you your own account Rep if you are a major domain buyer. I like that feature a lot. The account Rep can give you even better discounts then they advertise on their site and will handle any problems you have, if any. I like DirectNIC also, however their prices are twice what I pay now and since I've got my own Rep at GoDaddy and have done a lot of business with them, I'm not concerned about the horror story situations like everyone is touting. |
Godaddy been dropping th ball as of late...plus they force so much shit on you when your trying to pick up a domain.
Fuck that, id rather be safe than sorry anyways... Directnic is worth every fucking penny! :glugglug |
I never had a problem with Godaddy 95% of my domains are with them. They have 24-7 phone support and they are the only company that offers private registration. Yeah, they try and up-sell you something when you buy a domain, but damn how hard is it to hit no thanks.

I have been using godaddy for years now and I have never had a problem...although after hearing alot of stories I might have chosen someone else for my domain names.
|
fuck godaddy, use enom, or directnic.
|
you cant go wrong with Dotster.com ...:thumbsup
|
I registered a domain from godaddy with my CC, and when the bill arrived they double billed me for the one domain.
This was pretty recent, only a few weeks ago. I don't care enough about 8 bucks to try to get it back, but I won't EVER use godaddy again. |

Godaddy sucks ass. I just had a friend who went thru hell with them.
Cancelled one of his accounts by mistake then sold the domain out from under him. Godaddy's response was. " heres your $7.95 back " The guy nearly shit his pants. He lost a few thousand dollars and now his site is gone and bought up by some other shmoe. Terrible terrible ethics. I'm almost inclined to think it was an inside job. |

Totally agree, been changing all my domaisn over to GoDaddy as they are ready to expire with Dotster, sorry but $15.00 is just way to much to pay these days when there are so many cutting greats deals. I love GoDaddy's interface and I lock every domain, no problems here yet with GoDaddy :thumbsup I just wish they had a decent discoutn for moving about 25 domains over at once, but you gotta register or transfer 300+, damn I don't have that many hehehe. |
www.voxdomains.com Best deal with on control panel to switch DNS at any time!:thumbsup
Only $7.95 a domain!:thumbsup |
