Hustler sued.

According toe Celebrity Justice the Barbie Twins are sueing Hustler to take themselves off of the cover story on an upcoming issue as it will damage their 'characters'. Seems they want to do some sort of exercise TV show and vitamins or something like that.

Flynt says too bad. They signed a release.

Things that make you go Hmmmm :glugglug

sounds like a promotional gimmick to me - but either way - will always stand behind Hustler

Hustler seems to almost ask for lawsuits.

Sometimes the free advertising from such a thing is good for business.

Maybe Flynt will cave again like he did with Acadia.

Gemini 11-18-2003 10:21 AM

It might be expensive to back off. They showed a picture of a real copy of the magazine. So if they already have them printed up... Ouch! $$$$$$$ down the pipes. It might depend on what the contract says too. A release is nothing if the contract has outs in it.

Flynt if nothing else is a smart business man.. but also has alot of people working for him. I am not even sure if he knew what was happening with acacia, instead it simply might have been a business decision to avoid further and higher legal costs.

Barbie twins -- how NOT so squeaky clean, they get 15 minutes of fame once every 2 years......to me they are media whores, and no doubt will be published if thats Flynts intentions.

Now if it was the little Olsen twins from the old TV show, "Full house", I would have nightmares for life :-))

He didn't cave in.. he did a deal in the hopes to sell more of his content. Just like Matrix did. They don't pay shit to Acaci*.

LOL, like they have a squeaky clean image now! Publicity stunt! That's all it could be. Everyone already knows they've posed nude before, and this lawsuit is just calling attention to the fact. Just the fact that they DID it coming out in the media is enough to "tarnish" their reps. It's gotta be a publicity stunt.

once you sign a release its over and done with

Gemini 11-18-2003 02:45 PM

axelcat... ummm no. A release is just that. A contract governs the details of HOW or Where etc the photos would be used BEFORE the release is valid. Thats how the large companies work with people of some stature.

So the Barbies must be banking on the contract not being met where Larry is just looking at the release. We're not talking about some girl picked up in a bar where the release *is* the contract. Do you think they have an agent just to collect release copies? ;-) Hardly.
