Does such a thing exist somewhere?

For example .. if I want to advertise in magazines and collect orders via a 1-800#. Is there a 3rd party service that collects orders for you and possibly even answers simple questions about your product?

Sure, there are tons of them. Just do a search for answering services...a lot of them offer order taking.
