Banner management software?

Does anyone here currently use adcycle to manage banner advertising or rotating?

any feedback on how you found it to work?

i am currently looking at this as an option for a couple of ideas i am working on.

also, how does the end user account stats work if you have used it? how detailed do they go etc?

thanks for any help.

havent used that but phpads is good

Space Puppy 11-17-2003 11:52 PM

ya ive been testing phpads out for a few days but i dont like the user interface hence why im looking for a diff script.

have also tried webadverts to and i dont like for the same reason.

im more of a graphical person, i like being able to see things already compiled and from what i can tell adcycle does this.

just wanted some fedback before i spend the $130 on it to find out its not what i wanted.

PHP based banner management is very good platform, you just have to find the one you like best.

It's a great program I have been using on our sites for years. Im even using like a 3 year old version and it works seemlessly never had a problem. You can see screenshots of the program that gives you a pretty good idea of how detailed they are.

I'm using PhpAdsNew and it's awesome! It's kind of cumbersome to configure (manual divided up into to totalling over 150 pages) but it's easy to setup on the server.

Well to my knowledge is PHP not the optimum solution for banner systems. My sources say that PHP is a little slow under a lot of traffic. True?

Perhaps you are silly. PHP Ads is <I>the</I> program for banner management. I've used AdCycle and it's like apples and oranges. There is no comparison, PHP Ads blows everything else away. You could get used to the interface in four hours instead of spending two days looking for and setting up a new program.

It isnt a matter of *ME* having to get use to the interface rather of *ME* being able to edit the extrenous (sp) coding to fit the stats interface in with the rest of my site.

Adcycle would appear to be much easier to beautify at the initial investigation stage.

i can code you one.

Thats what I wanted to say... But it always just depends on the amount of traffic... As long as its under 1 million hits a day it should be fine with phpadsnew.... it will be a load on the server though. But as soon as it gets into the 2-5 million range it will get slower and slower...

Custom Servers, only way to go for high loads ;)
