anybody using the new napster?
went to the site, and see that they basically have no information about it.
so, i downloaded it and played with it a little. seems fairly cool, but for anybody that has used it, how does the purchased stuff work? can you save it as an mp3? how's the quality of the purchased stuff, and the bitrate of the mp3's? just curious if anyone has used it, and what their experience was. |
New napster? You mean kazaa? :helpme :winkwink:

how is it extremely restricted tho... they seem to have a lot of artists and albums i'm interested in. the price is fairly decent as well, esp. for full albums. cheaper than cd's... |
im gonna download it now
what bitrates do the have? |
I dont use it because I cant get my favorite live cuts and mixes.

not sure, the streaming at high rate is apparently 96kb. it has roxio built in and stuff. however, i just downloaded itunes, and it's _way_ faster (for browsing and previewing, seems the napster servers are kinda slow). i might buy a few tracks of both and see which i like better, but itunes is definitely getting a plus for speed, most of the previews are practically instant. |
napster no, kazaa yes.
|
argh, i downloaded an album on itunes and it won't write a cd - data or audio. and the help file locks up the program :Oh crap
|
:winkwink:
just use Overnet |

i just installed it
the interface is top, their servers as already was stated a bit slow. They have tons of songs/albums. Nice db, streaming radio,30sec preview of its song and an online magazine. I think through time and when things will get worse due to copyright prosecutions..Napster will be a giant, similar to the size of amazon. |
itunes' audio quality is good, their new file format is pretty nice. dunno how proprietary it is tho.
anyways, i'm pretty disappointed with itunes. i think i'll just buy the cd i just downloaded from itunes on amazon. especially since i can't fucking burn the album i bought, and almost fried my cd writer in the process. argh. napster seems cool, but i'm afraid to try it after itunes. i might try one song, see what happens. lol.. thanks apple. good thing quicktime isn't this crappy, or it would have never become very popular. |

i got tired of kazaa. i haven't used it for probably almost a year now.
i want quality, not to spend hours of downloading bullshit. that in itself is worth paying for, if not for the legality issues. |
