Anyone watches "Cribs" on MTV?
 

Is it me or when I see all those $100,000,000 houses it makes me feel like a loser?

Honestly I was watching cribs the other night and I really wasn't all that impressed. I have seen nicer homes owned by webmasters on this board.

Well the show I was watching featured Wu Tangs house in California. I thought it was kind of lame actually not much style or substance to it. But I am sure they get some pretty dirty hootchies in there! :winkwink:

Actually I watch it all the time, I love watching it, the bigger the home the better, it inspires me to get a bigger and bigger home, I love the opportunity to know what I am striving for.

I know many people share the same feeling as you, I look at it the opposite.

I have shot contnet at the wu tang house on Mulholland they no longer have the house and their neighbors couldn't be more pleased it was n't even a plce where anyone lived it was their party house and had a hotub in the living room-

You'll see the house in a zillion shoots on video-

It has a funky black gate and a black bottom pool...

i did a double take the other day when a house that I had looked at in the Hollywood Hills was on there - some skater or bmx guy i'd never heard of bought it and it was on the show.

Watching that show pisses me off !!

It makes me sick to see people living in those house and they dont have a clue what theyre doing.
ABSOLUTELY no idea about design, art, interior whatsoever.
They pay someone to make it look nice and thats it.
This one guy was wondering why there was a mirror halfway up the wall, too high to look into it.
He's wondering about that in his own house...pathetic.

I have no problems with people getting rich if they work for it but spending the money like that while having no clue is not p.i.m.p. but stupid.

Just the fact that you can afford a house like that is 50% of being cool, the other 50% has to come from yourself and this is exactly where most of those guys fail.

Some of the houses look real nice & some don't.
Also you have to remember where they are living. If they are in Beverly Hills then 1-2mil does not buy what it does in the southern states.

R Kellys & Shak's house were some of the best I have seen on the show. Also their was a football start who had a real nice farm featured last year...

One thing to keep in mind is this. Some of the people that are living in those houses may not actually be the owners of them. The record labels, management companies, etc may really own them and the person just lives there as if it is their home.

Id say shaq / jordan, that is definately their crib, the rest of the smaller players, I seriously doubt their names are on the deeds to those places.

The interior decorators are just horrible to say the least. Just because you have money DOES NOT mean you have taste.

Most of those homes are rented for the show. I know that for a fact. For people in the music biz, you have to hit it as big as Britney Spears or tour for years like the Grateful Dead to have a huge 10 million home.

I haven't seen too many of those (I don't have cable) but from what I saw, it seems that old school rockets have much better taste then rappers.

IMHO, Moby was the the most perfect example of what a person can do with his own imagination, without paying for any interior decorators.

It does make sense, because most of the people featured are not millionaires. I know that Shaq's house is his because I've seen his name on the Forbes list as one of the highest paid athletes. But for musicians, I am totally skeptical, because they get paid just a few cents for each album sold. You need to sell ALOT of albums to afford a decent home.

Herb is right. The better portion of the homes you see on Cribs are Leased. Due to my day job I deal with this from time to time.

I assure you you would be surprised with the amount of things that celebs and athletes lease under there "business" or are leased for said celeb by their label. Homes, Boats, Cars and when the sales dry up the "cribs" turn into cardboard boxes and bus tickets to moms house. The more I see the more shocked I am with how little most of these people own.
