Traffic Script

I'm looking at buying a commercial trade script and would like feedback on which one(s) are prefered the most.

Im looking at the following:

http://ww.ucj.com/ : UCJ
http://tgp.x3scripts.com/x3traderpro.html? : X3 Trader

Any suggestions are appreciated.

UCJ, TM3 or RB4.

johnbosh 11-18-2003 05:58 AM

ucj

Thanks for the feedback. I know that UCJ is pretty popular but I'm not too keen on the administrative interface. Granted I have only seen one photo, and would like to see some more if people can snap some shots for me.

The TM3 admin and graphs look really good. I like the visual representation of traffic.

Anyone else have any feedback on prefered scripts?

X3, TM3, UCJ, RB4

TM3, UCJ and RB4 are the most popular and you almost never hear anything bad said about them. Whereas I've heard criticisms of X3 and it is not widely used.

I have used TM3 and UCJ i like TM3 better, easier to read stats, seems to do better job sending uniques out, and forces better. :thumbsup

TM3 or ucj4 its a personal choice both are awsome scripts.

looks like you copied the color scheme of cjultra admin. it looks like an exact match. i hand coded the html of that page in notepad, all colors and table styles etc..

what else did you copy?
are you not competent enough to write a bunch of html code?

did you copy the source code as well? i havent seen it but from the experiences i had over the years, i find that very likely.

geez, have some respect to other people's work, build a product 100% on your own, if you have the slightest skill to do so.

Was just going to say this B.A.L.L.S. looks way too much like CJ Ultra. If the HTML is so close, I bet a lot of the code is real close, too.

ED 11-28-2003 01:10 AM

actually....
i have a feature in the script where you can edit the color scheme in any way you want and save it.
A client of mine said he wanted it to look like cjultra... i hadn't even seen cjultra so he got me a screenshot. So to answer your question about the source code.... FUCK YOU.
other then that 1 color scheme... This is 100% my work.

I can vouch for Ed and his script. He has always written his own scripts and hasn't seen any of the other scripts mentioned above, so that precludes any sort of copying. His script interface is completely customizeable so it can look pretty much any way you want it to.

Ed is the real deal, he's been around the biz at least as long as me, possibly longer, and I got started back in 98-99.

DarkJedi 11-28-2003 06:24 AM

EDs script BALLS is really good.
He has written it himself, didnt steal anything.
Its also very fairly priced - 300$ for 3 installs is a sweet deal.

:2 cents:

Steve 11-28-2003 09:31 AM

Well, with CDSmith and DarkJedi vouching for him, it brings him cred that he's not some newbie just ripping guys off. But that's not a good marketing idea (offering screencaps that closely resemble the admin of an existing script).

TM3 has an admin that you can edit - go to there site, and the screencaps they offer do not resemble anyone else's admin.

BrentD 11-28-2003 10:34 AM

TM3 url???

Ed is definitely not "some newbie ripping guys off"... like I said, he's never even looked at those other scripts. I have had to advise him myself on what features would be most useful particularly to TGP owners. I have also not seen the inside workings of most of those other scripts either, so any similarity in the cosmetic look of the interface is purely coincidence. I've never used any script on any of my free sites before.... Ed's is the first one I've bothered to use so far, ever.

From what I'm told, Ed is writing in some pretty awesome features for a version 2 of B.A.L.L.S. as well... possibly including gallery submission management (with link-checking), thumbnail management, banner ad management/rotation, and much more.

ED 11-28-2003 11:00 AM

thanks CD.
Thats a month or 2 away . I'm hoping to make this script more like an all in 1 script then JUST a traffic managment script.
By the way... i take feature requests too.
Site and webmaster board coming soon.

you guys have a nice day.
