How Can I Last Two Weeks In Vegas, Without Spending A Fortune ???

Well it's actually 12 day's, but what can i see and do during the day which won't cost a packet ?

Casino's are no problem for me, don't bother with them much, so what else takes up the full day in Vegas ?
I know i will be getting up late on more than a few day's if the nights go to plan... :winkwink:

Will New Year cost a fortune ?? We head over on the 29th of December.

And where is that park with the huge fucking roller-coaster i've seen on tv ?? :helpme

i get in on the 29th as well.

booked celine, mamameya, penn and teller, and the blue man group shows already, plan to take many massaguges at canyon ranch, maybe a helecopter ride through the grand canyon and lots of great restrauants. then the wife goes home on the 2nd and I stay through for the convention.

CassidyS 11-17-2003 01:13 PM

Stay at a Station casino or the Boardwalk, both good prices, but the Stations arent exactly close to the strip, Boardwalk is right there on LV BLVD, good buffet. The big roller coaster is at the Circus Circus Adventure Dome, real fun to spend a day there, plus Circus Circus has an excellent buffet, very good mousse pie! There is a place called Gameworks, its a big arcade. Right next to the Showcase mall and movie theatre. The Fashion Show mall was recently redone, also on the Strip by, I believe Convention Center. I would also recommend going to the shops at the Aladdin and Venetian, the Venetian has the Guggenhiem exhibit, very cool. Well, I hope this helps, if I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

Scott McD 11-17-2003 01:17 PM

We stay at Treasure Island for 5 days, then onto the Venetian...

Well, maybe.

When we went this year, we only stayed for 6 days, and i managed to spend a shit load.

So it makes sense to try and work out a way to make the money last this time round while staying for longer... :)

hyatla 11-17-2003 01:19 PM

I remember there was an episode on Travel channel, about a lady staying in Vegas that she doesn't pay a dime to gamble, stay, eat. Use coupons and sign up for clubs, that sort of thing. But I never really figured that out, although I have been to Vegas for more than 8 times. :2 cents:

I know the feeling - Damn easy to spend like water -
At least the dollar is dirt cheap at the moment - That makes it a pretty cheap place to go.

ElvisManson 11-17-2003 02:20 PM

anymore than 3-4 days in Vegas is too much anyway.....rent a car and travel.

:2 cents:

There are a few roller coasters on the strip, but I think you are probably thinking of the one at Primm which is at the NV Cali border 40 mins or so outta Vegas

Mr Pheer 11-17-2003 02:36 PM

Rent a car, drive out to valley of fire national park, pay $5 entry fee, and be amazed all day by the beutiful scenery.

I have no clue on how to spend the other 11 days cheaply.

Tytan 11-17-2003 02:44 PM

You can hear the slot machines calling you already, come on scott play me, play me hehehe

axelcat 11-17-2003 02:47 PM

If you feel like playing a game play the change machine put a dollar bill and collect 4 quarters this way you will break even:1orglaugh

PSGuru 11-17-2003 02:51 PM

People think that there is nothing to do in Vegas but Gamble.
This is a total misconception. You can:

Goto Lake Mead

Goto Bonnie Springs

Valley of Fire

Golf

I've been in the Circus Circus hotel.. the indoor rollercoaster was cool :) well, overall CC was cool :)

And, 4 outdoor pools.. mmm :)

Hustler DJ 11-17-2003 03:17 PM

Definitely wanna golf at Angel Park and hit a Copter Ride around the city.

You're only a couple hours from the Grand Canyon -- if you're killing that much time, I'd get a car/copter/anything and get over there too. Stay in Flagstaff or go an extra 30 miles to Sedona, probably the most beautiful red rock landscapes/hiking you'll ever see... anyhow, that's my :2 cents:

Ok the park is called "grand slam canyon" its at Circus Circus. Its a day of fun =)

ALso there is a coaster at the New York New york.

Try clubs like studio 54 in MGM. Or Rum Jungle in Mandalay bay. Drais in Barbary Coat is great for after hours. It opens at 4 am...

If you want to be a total tourist check out some shows. Blue man group is an AWESOME show (luxor i belive) Danny Gans is great too (rio). T&A show Follies Berger or how ever you spell it at the tropicana. Go for some free bee shows like the outside ones at the casinos. The water show at bellagio, the pirate thing at treasure island.

Just a few ideas

Gemini 11-17-2003 03:28 PM

You can spend a good day at at the dam too. Lots of hikes and copter rides and all of theat.

I haven't had time to get it cleaned up but some of that is at http://www.vegasgems.com

RhiannonBray 11-17-2003 03:32 PM

forgot a few things. ceasers and mandalay bay have topless pool/jacuzzi areas. Might be fun after some drinking.
There is a show in the Forum shops inside ceasers palace thats pretty neat. Its in the evening like at 9 or something. This mall is a little more themed than the other malls but are still cool =) FAO shwartz is in there LOL

The sea food buffet at the rio on wed is bad ass! The rosewood grill on las vegas blvd is top notch fine dinning just in case you meet a little philly you want to impress.

If you like snowboarding you can drive 30 min to Mnt charelston and hit the slopes.
