These morons that register domains just to sell on forums, are worse than spammers...
What kind of profit do they make? $10, $20? What an absolute waste of time... don't register domains thinking that someone had "overlooked" it. There are people with dictionary fed programs that search whois database and registry information all the time. Your domain is worth shit, at best it is nothing more than another shitty good for nothing google listing that a real webmaster could be occupying... When your AOL 45 days of free internet are over, set fire to your computer and don't look back. |
Agreed...Domain names are a dime a dozen..every day an attractive name is available..
|
Wether you like it or not domain names is a business. There are millions of names dropped did you look through them all? I don't care what hi-tech script you have you can not possibly look at all those domains yourself. You'll see names expired or available that others haven't and someone will see names that you haven't. Many webmasters don't have the time, patience, or they just don't want to be bothered looking. I do it as a service just like people that build galleries, submit to tgp's, review galleries ect.

They get dropped for a reason, they're shit.

they get dropped because the person didnt know how to make profit off it just ask KRL, he would know, trust me :glugglug |

I still think that the good domains stay registered for a reason... not to say you can't get any, but the ones posted on GFY the last few days, unless obvious, they're mostly shit. |
agreed
|
Aren't there regulations against that shit? Can't you just dispute the domain name with the registrar or icann or somebody?

Lately, there has been many people with domains that were registered 10 minutes before a post, with the line "Starting bid $50", then they repost their shitty domain multiple times, and still the domains don't get sold. $10 profit and it takes a registration then a transfer to get my sale? I'd rather work at McDonalds. |

Anyway, I sell domains, yes. WHooopdie fucking doo. You dont give a shit? Dont tell me about it, because I could give a rats ass what you think about what I do. I sell domains because I think its fun. Even like eddie said, it is a service. Yes those domains have either been available or they were just dropped. If they were available, maybe I just found one that someone really likes but never thought of. If it was just dropped, the person either didnt know how to use the domain to make some money, or quite possibly just forgot. Profit is profit buddy. I make enough on the side selling domains to live comfortably. Its a business that you apparently know nothing about. If you dont like it, fine. But dont go bitching about it on this forum. :thumbsup |
Its a big business these days, people register 1000's of domains hoping to sell them for outrageous prices. Oh well, I dont see any signs of these people slowing down. If anything, more and more people register shit just because its porn related and a .com.

I could not care less what line of business you're in. My comments were aimed at a specific group of people, not the whole domain buying industry. You know what the beauty of using a public forum is? everyone has a say... who the fuck am I? the same as you. No matter what you think your status is, my posts get read by just as many people as yours. My opinion matters just as much as yours. |

Then dont make it seem as if you are. :winkwink: |
Actually domains sell very well...
But hint... Do not go selling em on public forums! LOL Ya just get yer head bashed in and give everyone else idea's... |
Selling words for money I think its the greatest thing. I can't smell it, eat it, shoot my load on it but I can get money for it:thumbsup

You mate are soooooooooooooo very wrong. Granted, you do have to pick through quite a bit of junk, to find them, but I assure you there are absolute gems to be found buried within these 20,000 to 30,000 domains that expire every day. I shake my head in disbelief constantly, thinking what kind of dumb fuck let that one go and that one go and that one go. I'm able to effectively scan about 2500 domains daily out of the whole drop pile targeted to specific keywords. On average, out of that I see about 250 decent names, and usually about 25 exceptional ones, that meet my criteria, which I go after. On a good day, I'm thrilled if I get 1 to 5 of these. The very best are next to impossible to grab and are gone literally within a second of their release. There are several hundred other guys out there doing the same thing so you have to be very fast on the draw to nab one. To me, this is pure and simple, a real estate play. Grabbing nice properties, that for whatever reason got "foreclosed on". Hell, you can't beat the price. Some I buy, just to flip on a minimum of 50 to 1 and higher markup. That's a 5000% ROI. You can't find any investment with that kind of return with such zero risk. During the next couple of years, I'm going to begin the buildout phase. About 1/2 my portfolio is mainstream and 1/2 is adult. By 2010, it will be an Internet real estate portfolio comprised of thousands of domains and revenue generating sites, with a value well into the 9 fig range, that'll then be rolled up into a public company, under the long term plan and exit strategy I have designed for it. So OK, there are some morons for sure, flipping half ass domains for lunch money, but I assure you, Moron is not my middle name. :) |
