Smoking in NY

I watch a new report about the Mayor in NY, has forbidden smoking. Are there any link to more info about good/bad things happens becouse of that?

bars and cabdrivers say that business is down as a result of the smoking ban , new york city isn't as hot as it use to be , imagine standing outside of a bar to smoke a cigarette.

That is the info i am seeking.
I can imagine that a lot of smokers are staying home, becouse of it.
