Yep but that was a meaningless match.

24-7

Nice!
France hadn't been tested uptill today and looked good - Whereas every English game saw theit oponents rise to give them a stern test -

Should be a good final -

I went on a trip to buy cheap christmas booze yesterday and on the ferry home from Calais there was a group of drunk English guys singing - to the tune of Yellow Submarine - 'We all know that the french are gonna die, the french are gonna die, the french are gonna die'.

#1 I have lived here for 7 years, British (English) husband, etc
#2 I will shortly have dual citizenship with the US and the UK so I am both a Yank and a Brit. I can have my own personal revolution.

Don't worry, I will support the US too if they beat France at any sports ;)

Chris E 11-16-2003 07:13 AM

The US don't like playing other nations at sport! Nice world series! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

SABAI 11-16-2003 07:14 AM

Just let it be known that it was YOU not me that said Canada wasn't another nation.

oh and don't make me tell you why it is really called the World Series..I am getting tired of writing the BBC and bitching about it to them too.

Why is it called the world series when there is only one country in it?

okay well firstly there isn't just one country in it and secondly it used to be sponsored by "The World" newspaper.

Firstly: Is there I really didnt realise.... how many countries in total? How many countries teams have ever won it?

We often think the americans are ignorant of our culture but we are the same off theres..... not even sure what sport it is.... Is it rounders?

Secondly: who sponsors it now? Why dont they call it that companies series?

Chris E 11-16-2003 07:31 AM

The Budweiser series...

Chris E 11-16-2003 07:32 AM

Canada don't count!

countries: Two and two. I am a Phillies fan and I know all too well that Canadians can win the world series as they won against us. The offical baseball association will also answer that based on how many different nations are represented amongst the players but I agree that it a bit of the cop out.

name: Because it stuck and people started calling it that and certainly if there is one thing that British people understand it is tradition. We (I'm in American mode now) don't have that many so let us kindly have them, thanks.

ENGLAND vs FRANCE
25 - 17
Saturday Feb 15 - 16:00 pm (GMT)
Twickenham

Full-back Jason Robinson, who was willing to swap his try in Paris last year for an England victory, celebrated with both.

His strike, bursting through to take a superb pass from centre Will Greenwood to race in and touch down near the post, gave England a grip on the game which they never relinquished.

Tafkap 11-17-2003 03:36 AM

For sure we played like shit last sunday... but u should tell Wilkinson to play football now!!!

No tries, just penalties!!! WTF??

Anyway, England played much better then us...

Living For Today 11-17-2003 04:42 AM

fuck england fuck me off. kicking bullshit. rugby is a great sport but it relaly needs to be just 2 points for a penalty. anyhow it just will make me happier when australia kick pom ass on saturday :winkwink:

Tipsy 11-17-2003 04:45 AM

Always amusing to see people bitch about the points being scored by kicks when the truth is any team could do the same IF they were capable. It takes a lot more than just a guy with a good foot to get them :)
