MPG Help

Hi

I just got this 500mb MPG file (unedited shoot) I try to open it with Windows Media and it cant find a codec, I try with Real and again it cant find anything to play it in the update.

What else can I try?

The sender wont be around till monday, cant even ask him.

i do two things when this shit happens to me, one of 'em is download something like ace mega codecs pack or one of those things; or, uninstall every codec u have, download the media player again from microsoft and get the xvid codec and the divx codec, that should work

It might be corrupted ..... Get the original avi if possible

You could always try the best video software on the market it will probably play it without any problems at all.

Quicktime

If this is an mpeg..divx codecs isn't going to do you much good.
Real Player won't play mpegs.

If you have a video editor..simply lay it out in that and take a look at the file. If it's corrupted..it'll show that. If you don't have a video editor handy, here's a link to a slug of freeware editors
you can choose from:

http://www.freewareseek.com/search.php3?q=mpeg+to+avi

A lot of these will allow you to convert from one format to another btw. Hope this helps.

Download GSpot to see what codec it's using.

Try Quicktime 6. It's quite possible they pulled a SoBe and renamed the file extension so it looks like a mpeg but it is something else

ahahah, yes, I remember the so-called "sobe super mpeg"... just like any other mpeg, but encoded with telephone quality sound to keep the file size down. revolutionary. :1orglaugh

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT DOWNLOAD MEDIA PLAYER 9

Stick with 6.4

The software version has nothing to do with whether or not a movie will play.
