I used to have PA speakers hooked up to my car stereo and hidden under the hood behind the front grille.

Nah, Im just one guy reading and posting. My employees do data work for clients. We're growing into US Health Insurance medical transcriptions... Yummy stuff! But the great thing about manual data labor is it can be applied to all fields. And to think, I started in adult :thumbsup

The money in medical records transcriptions is HUGE. Basically many hospitals currently pay US-based transcribers the average of $10-15 an hour to manually transcribe documents. Most of these transcribers have little to no medical backgrounds. Many don't have college degrees.

In the Philippines, there are many biosciences/healthcare degree graduates who read and write English well. Moreover, they understand the medical terms and the proper context for the notes. Medical records outsourcing produces better context-sensitive materials at a FRACTION (we're talking 1/5th to 1/10th) the US cost.

Our sister company collects the paper records in the US, archives them and OCRs them to the Philippines. The Philippines operations center transcribes them, edits for context, and sends back the work in data format to the US.

US healthcare companies lower their costs and they stay competitive.

Now that ain't no laughing matter!:thumbsup
