Is there anything a dog won't eat?

Natural pet food store that I shop at gave me a sample of a chew stick they carry. Said my dog would love them and they're good for them. Well she did love it so I called today to ask about them. They're called macho stix and they're made out of... bull penises.

I'm not kissing that furface ever again!

IntenseCash 11-15-2003 05:20 PM

LOL someones gotta eat it.. dont want to throw penises out.

Unfortunately, they sometimes resort to coprophagy.:( :helpme

not mine thank gawd.. well she does try to get to the kitty almond roca, but we've learned to block off the laundry room where the litter boxes are.

My dog will eat whole chicken wings, bone and all, and even the really big ones..... I have no idea how he digests that shit.

And no, I dont give them to him.... he sneaks them out of the trash.

Holly 11-15-2003 05:25 PM

The only thing that any of the dogs I've ever had wouldn't eat, was dog food. My fault, I know.

jeffs 11-15-2003 05:26 PM

LOL, PK. Almond Rocha. I guess we both read the same Boneprone classic thread. I love the real version not the feline version :1orglaugh :thumbsup

i've seen a dog eat shit, and smacking her lips after like she just had the most delicious meal

:repuke

My moms boyfriend has a huge chesapeake retriever that drives me nuts, he is food obsessed! If Im cooking something he is always underfoot, he even licks the dishes in the dishwasher if its open.

If you give him a piece of anything he practically takes your hand off and gobbles it down so I was cooking with ginger and tossed him this huge chunk and he inhaled it and then started freaking out and coughing and sneazing and licking his lips! Damn dog ;)

A lot of humans are like that too.

Gemini 11-15-2003 06:02 PM

They have an inherent fear of road killed skunk. :)

Feed them a whole boiled (or baked but boiled is better) potato every now and then. Add some butter and abit of salt to coax them. It makes their fur realllllly glossy and smooth. Skinless is easier to get them to gobble down too.

Our dawg would eat the chainlink fence if we didn't feed him. :1orglaugh

LOL, My dog loved the kitty almond roca, too. The first time this happened, I called the vet, all shook up thinking I had a really abnormal dog. The vet said this was normal, but usually when this happens, the dog is lacking in some mineral or vitamin and they are trying to compensate by eating the, um, kitty almond roca. It's still gross, nonetheless, and I too, blocked off the litter box area's and then switched the brand of dog food to the most expensive stuff I could find, hoping to compensate for whatever the dog thought it was lacking. :)

Reminds me of my dog. Last year he went and licked at a toad and was foaming at the mouth for a few minutes after that...

He went and drank some lake water and was better, but he leaves the toads alone now.

Lol my dog just ate my CD copy of the game Temple of Elementeal Evil, so I am sure he eats everything. Last week he also ate a stack of bills that were supposed to be paid, and when they call now I just tell them that the dog ate it ;)

My pup gets one of the best foods out there and nice natural treats along with a good vitamin supliment (sp). My vet told me it was natural. That they see it as food because there's enough undigested nutrients in it. Still Bleck!

On a sad note (this doesn't seem to be a good month for us and geriatric pets), my son's teddy bear hamster, Dusty, died today. Best we can recall from my old dayplanners, he was about 3.5 years old. The most tame, cuddliest, snuggle hamster there ever was.

Bigjohn 11-15-2003 07:56 PM

My dog won't eat broccoli... panties, couches, SURROUND SOUND WIRES (that one pissed me off), CD's and cases, you name it, my dog's probably eaten it (even kitty rocca), LOL.

pornguy 11-15-2003 08:01 PM

My dogs try to eat anything and everything. From frogs to mice.

The scarry thing is that we live in the woods, and one day my horse decided that she would try an play with a skunk. well she got sprayed right in the face and all the way down to her feet. I could not get within 10 feet of her, but my dogs were trying to lick her feet!!!

My roommate spent all night trying to find her lighter . . . it came out of our dog (in pieces) the next day. I was worried, but apparently digesting the lighter fluid didn't bother him.
