I have a dual monitor video card by Matrox....I tried setting up two different monitors, although they were the same size.....made me crazy...
Now, I have two identical monitors....side by side....can't live without it.

Your video needs to support dual monitor setup

Brad-Wishing 11-15-2003 02:14 PM

At least have them the same size.
Go into the display setup and you can configure them there set primary and secondary. Have them run the same, or parrallel etc.

Raven 11-15-2003 02:15 PM

Matrox card is cheap and worth it..for this kind of setup.

same desk, same setup. 90% not loaded like u!

Jimbo 11-15-2003 02:21 PM

yeah all you need is a card with 2 monitors output or 2 video cards. then you go in display settings, click on monitor #2 and click extend desktop to this monitor.

hope this helps.

gin 11-15-2003 02:21 PM

It's great, having two monitors.....

one for loading a site..one for doing anything else...gives me a bigger desktop.

Ludedude 11-15-2003 06:23 PM

One centered, the other off to the side. I can never go back to a cramped single monitor desktop again. It's definitely easier on the eyes/brain if both monitors are similar, ie., two LCDs or two CRts. Mixing and matching will be more tiring.

Totally... I'm buying a second monitor for home next week, can't live without it now.

(P.S. These monitors have since been replaced with 19"s, old pic)

Dual monitors is the only way to go, of course once you go dual it's hella tough to go back to one...

BTW- you MUST have to of the same monitors or it will kill your eyes...:)
