Funny you say Kosher style: here's her entry at Jewhoo.com
---------------------
Natalie Portman - Actress and model. Portman became famous when she starred as Queen Amidala, the most famous "Jewish" Queen since Esther in the Star Wars movie, "The Phantom Menance". Okay, she's hot. So, here are the straight Jewish facts: born (1981) in Jerusalem. Her father is an Israeli physician and her mother an American (Jewish) woman. Her family travels back and forth frequently. She speaks fluent Hebrew. She was a hit in the most recent Broadway production of the "Diary of Anne Frank". "Portman" is her grandmother's maiden name. She took it to protect her family's privacy. If you plan to date her, don't take her to a steak house--she's a strict vegetarian. We don't know her shoe size. All the juicy Jewish details on the following links. Update: Jamie Lynn Sigler (also Jewish) of "The Shahahahahahas" recently (8/01) disclosed that she and Natalie Portman trained at the same Long Island dance studio and "high fived" each other when they recently ran into each other. We will keep you posted on equally exciting bits of Jewish celebrity trivia as they come into Jewhoo Central!! UPDATE March 2002: We recently came across famed photographer Annie Leibovitz's newest collection of photographs called "Women", 2001. There is a picture of Natalie Portman in there that is breathtaking. She can only be described as exquisitely beautiful--somewhere between Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. UPDATE May 2002: There is an interesting article about the Jewish Star Wars 'royalty' (Portman and Carrie Fisher) on the following link. As it says, Carrie Fisher's "Princess Laia" character was kind of a wisecracking tough "sort of Jewish" woman from the time it was introduced in the first "Star Wars" film. Portman's character was very subdued in the first film. However, Portman is allowed to be more emotive in the sequel. The piece goes into the fact that Portman has become the remote object of many Jewish guys' fantasies. Update March 2003: Portman has agreed to co-star in a film written by Zach Braff, the (Jewish) co-star of TV's "Scrubs." The film, entitled "Large's Ark", is also directed by Braff and he co-stars in it. It's a romantic comedy. Filming begins in April. Portman reportedly was impressed by the script and had just enough time to fit it in before filming begins this summer on another "Star Wars" picture.
