What would be good countries to live in if you wanted to have a few maids, butler, cook etc. for a reasonably low amount of money?

from the list above, Philippines is one place you really one to live as far money, labor, women... yeah, bribary as well.

English is widely spoken in the Philippines, same goes for India (which is a country I forgot to mention in my first reply). I believe there's also a decent number of English speakers in Costa Rica (note that I have never been there). In the other countries I mentioned, English is less widely spoken. However the fact is, you will find some people with basic English skills in practically any major city or tourist area on the planet.

life in asian countries is simple that's why the cost of living is not that much. most eastern countries do understand and speak the same language like westeners as well.

im on broadband right now 512 adsl and it cost me about $150 a month.... it's great, very rarely have any problems with it... there's also cable available here, and leased lines for your business....

virtually nonexistant... expecially to farangs (westerners)...

if you go to jail here, you're fucked... so crime is low... drugs, mainly meth is plaguing the Thai teens though.... which is good, because i like my girls skinny =))

visa strategy? 30 days you have to leave the country... you either 1) have enough money and go visit another country once a month like i do... or 2) pay 10$ and take the 3 hour drive to cambodia for a 'border run' to get stamped and your 30 day visa renewed, or you start a thai corporation and you get a 1 year visa and a work permit which you get instant and abundant credit.....

you can get 128k 256 or 512dsl, or leased lines for hi-speed... available almost anywhere in bangkok... if you live in the jungle up-country you can get a satellite connction for the same price as bangkok dsl/cable...

not when you live 1 hour flight from 5 different countries man.... it's fun.... appx 4 hour flight to HKK to go shopping, 3 hour flight to singapore to go shopping/whoring/visit money in the bank... etc...

i just recently acquired a 1 year visa whilst @ internext in miami at the thai consulate, so now i only have to leave every 90 days.. good for a year.... but i leave monthly anyways because i like to =)

depends on what your idea of living like a king is...

to alot of poor westerners here 2k a month is enough to live like a king.... they live cheaply.... i spend about 4k a month here total and consider myself living like a king, phat pad, 5 star restaurants, vip to the swanky clubs, vip massage parlours, 5 star resort getaways, great golf courses, the best whores....

a certain someone i know lives here 10 times more luxuriously than i do, has expensive car, a driver, better view apt, more expensive apart., but same golf places, same whore-places, same restaurants and clubs....

it's all up to you....

my friend who bilks $1500 a month fixed income from his Pizza place in Boston lives cheaply but he loves it.... he'd rather spend 40 cents on a real thai meal on the side of the road with the Thai people.... I'd personally rather go to the grand hyatt for some good filet =)

he resumed it all pretty well, i spend a little over 1500 bucks every month and i feel like living like a king here . i have my bottles in most upper clubs around town and go by plane to the seaside twice a month where i get a fully functional appartment for less than 20 bucks a day.

the cheaper way to live in a decent country.. without all that poverty arround you is Argentina.... example.. to rent a 6bedroom apartment.. in floor 35.. with the best view.. marble all arround.. concierge.. private elevator.. separate small apartment for the maid.driver and coock.. rento $1000.. a full time maid (sleep in) 300 dollars.. a driver.. $150.. a cook.. $200.. buying a Mercedes Benz A class.. 16k.. 1.5mb DSL or Cablemodem $45 .. world best meat.. !.. here are some photos of Buenos Aires.. you just have to love this city..
Not to mention that with money you can buy the same things you buy in the US so you can keep your lifestyle here.. and over 10 daily flights to the US in case you miss it.. (arround 500 dollars round trip)
