Should I Use an AVS on the site?
 

I was just thinking about something. I have adult pics on the site and no verification. The site, of course, is Rate Nude People.com . Should I be using some kind of AVS...and if so, which one do you recommend?

I have seen these type of hybrids.

I saw a hack of PhotoPost Pro that allowed users to upload photos and vote. Each surfer would get 5-7 'views' that the screen would automatically default to an AVS. I imagine this is a cookied session that would lock a user's box for 12-24 hours.

This is more of a ploy to generate extra revenue than age verification. Rules governing users uploaded content is different than site owner content.

You would kill your traffic, trust me.

What you need is a "Premium Video section" and slap an AVS on it, keep em coming in for the free pics, snag em for the video, use a cheap recurring AVS.

If you are worried about actual age verification, only show tits and have plenty of warnings on the front page, or call Larry Walters, he'll hook you up with some iron clad (as close as it gets) warning and terms pitches custom made for ya. :thumbsup

Loks like you actually have two issues.

a) how are you doing 2257 complaince for the people uploading their pictures? for the sake of argument, i am assuming these pics are purchased content and not actually uploaded from unknown users. However, if you are accepting uploaded pictures from users without checking IDs first, as described in 2257, you better get your ass in gear.

b) secondly there are age verification tools out that that do not rely on credit cards, or "don't go in here" larry walters type scripts. i have been using my service for 2 years with great success (and it is actually legally compliant). Go to google and enter "age verification" and you will see a listing of 3 or 4 companies which offer this style of service.
