it is old news...except for the fact that a 3rd person is dead and now they are saying this was possibly caused by scallions and not by an infected employee. fuckin scary

Makes ya wonder if other restaurants got them as well. I guess we would have heard about it by now + I'm sure all restaurants threw them away by now that could have had them.

GW said it's all al Qada's fault.

It happened at the local mall here. I've eaten there many times. Definately scary.

Depends on the outcome. Looks right now like it may have been a food supplier that gave them contaminated produce. That could happen at any restaurant.

i'm a chef, and honestly this scares me. if there is bacteria like this on produce? i really was not aware that it could be transmitted like that. produce needs to be thouroughly washed, it's never really even considered under serve safe guidelines. alot of place do not wash their produce. :helpme

The symptoms sound exactly like what I went through 2 weekends ago... yikes.

ulfie2 11-14-2003 08:52 PM

They are thinking it was possible it was the green onions since there has been a couple of other outbreaks in the south related to them. As an amatuer chef I wouldn't even think of eating vegatables that weren't thoroughly washed. Who knows what's on them?
