I was told by a friend who knows a Roy's doctor.

Apparently Roy constantly goes to the emergency rooms at least once a month from bites and scratches from the tigers. Getting attacked in the show is nothing new to him. During the show Roy has numerous Body doubles that can take his place in moments time without the audience even noticing. Even one time his body double had to take his place for more than 1 month because of a serious injury. But most of the times it would happen behind curtains. Unfortunately this latest incident happen in plain view.

The real story is that some big haired lady cross the line on stage and attempted to touch the tiger. Roy stepped in between them and instinctively the tiger grabbed roy's back of the neck and dragged him. Just like the way it would with one of it's baby tigers.

So bascially they could of used the body double again until he got well. but unfortunately it would be hard to explain how got well so fast

Coverups by the Mirage... after all the show MUST go on! No matter how many Roys we need.

The show was having a hard time selling tickets so they decided to pull a stunt to make people believe that the show is over, this got many talking how good the show was.

As soon as they feel the demand is high again Sigfried will put a magic curtain on Roy and he will appear in great health and the show will continue.

While I can't dispute your claim to getting some inside info from Roy's doc and I don't doubt that he has indeed suffered multiple injuries form the cats. This whole notion that the tiger was being paternal is a load of shit. It doesn't take someone who is well versed in tiger beahvior to figure this out.

First off, this was a male tiger. They have ZERO paternal instincts, once the tigress is pregnant she drives the male away becuase he would most likely kill the cubs. Let's suppose this wasn't the case and indeed the cat was being protective. A mother tiger moves the cubs becuase she has too, usually when they're too small to move themselves ( anyone who has spent any time with tigers babies knows they start running arond and getting into everything very quickly). So a 400lbs mother tiger is capable of moving a baby weighing less than 5 lbs without biting it in half, but is incapable of moving a grown man without alomst biting his head off? The dexterity that they are capable of with the mouths is impressive to say the least. This was a bite with bad intentions. The cat wanted to kill Roy, period. I have said it in other posts and I will say it again. It's not a matter of whether or not a tiger will try and kill you. It's when a tiger is going to try and kill you.
