Do you SEO?

I'm wondering how many people take advantage of SEO themselves, or if they have someone do it for them.

Poll time!

XxXotic 11-13-2003 11:25 AM

do it myself :)

Brad-Wishing 11-13-2003 11:26 AM

I would think most people do... but they do it passivly. I am curious to see how this poll turns out.

That's right - you and Dave went to that. I've been doing it for ages... so I didn't really think it would be worth it. But sounds like there is a bit I missed.

pornJester 11-13-2003 12:24 PM

Being doing this myself with good results for a few years now :thumbsup

WiredGuy 11-13-2003 03:19 PM

Yes, for 4 years now. I do it for myself and I'm not for hire for all those people who keep asking me. I'm going to put that in my signature because you people keep asking me for SE traffic!

I think advice is good. Some good articles. SEO guys are important for those who can not do it themselves... or who are not getting the desired results.

They DO work... :)

Sharing is caring, I always try to give out advice in most SE threads.

I do SEO for others and I have hired a SEO to do my own sites. :glugglug

HarlotCash Dyker 11-13-2003 05:20 PM

Been doing it myself since 1996 -

Google now is quite easy - I have several #1 spots without any spamming at all -

But - And a BIG but - #1 today is easily # 25 tomorrow as Joe Spammer decides to kill of a few thousand more keywords

mb 11-13-2003 05:31 PM

If you own an adult site, not doing some form of SEO is ignorant!

:-)

WiredGuy 11-13-2003 10:21 PM

I love SEO'ing!
WG

chowda 11-13-2003 10:38 PM

SEOing rulez! I am 1 and 1/2 year in the game and I love when it is faster for me to type the keyword in searchbox instead of looking for my affiliate links in webmaster areas :Graucho

i used to spend a lot of time doing it with fantastic results before google. i just can't get google to work for me well. spending a lot of time on something for it not to work sucks.

cluck 11-14-2003 02:50 PM

I don't just do it, I count on it :thumbsup

BukkakeBrown 11-14-2003 03:08 PM

It's pretty clear everyone does SEO themselves, as do I. Any of your guys go Google nets, or know what that is?

jojojo 11-14-2003 03:21 PM

I do my own and other people hire me to do theirs.

I have clients in the top 10 and some holding down #1 spots for very competitive keywords - plus my own sites are all top 10 too.

I noticed you're no longer guaranteeing top 10 placements in your sig or url. You stopped doing that?

I never actually gauranteed it in my sig - I DID make gaurantees here on gfy and to a few people who were skeptical.

With clients being in the top 10 and some in #1 spots - I really haven't had to do that anymore - business is very good :Graucho

hyatla 11-14-2003 03:47 PM

IT people do it, I have no idea, and my own site sucks. :(

Brad-Wishing 11-14-2003 03:48 PM

It's an art. Lots of fine tuning.

Good for you... guarantee's is usually a redflag if you ask me...

Yeah that's why I only offered it to a few people in the beginning to get some skeptical clients - now that I have top 10 spots for my clients and they are making several thousand dollars per month from their listings - that is all the reassurance they need :thumbsup

Get it while the getting is good because my prices will be doubling very soon :) They are far too cheap as it is now.

Invest 2k and make $2k/mth every month within 60 days sheesh - merry xmas what a gift :1orglaugh

bena1975ca 11-14-2003 05:16 PM

Hmmm. SEO promotion. I think you would get a shitload more business if you did a trial client. Take a domain that already does okay. Then do your magic and watch it grow. Keep tabs on it daily and post daily stats and such.

If I had some sort of proof it worked... I would buy.

I am far beyond that now - I have clients that have paid me are listed and making money - including #1 spots:

http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...ree+sex+videos (omnivids.com)

I have found that MOST people who talk about trials, work first pay later, guarantees, etc have a hard time grasping the concept of an investment and evaluating risk vs reward :1orglaugh

$2k investment into something with proven results and numbers with an upside potential of 100% return/mth endlessly...

I can always tell when I get a new client that owns investments - such a dream to work with :thumbsup

How much to get a site from #60 to top 10 in a really popular category? I mean REALLY popular.

Depends on the kind of site and what keyword.

So omnivids and roccomovies paid you $2k each to get them placed #1 for free sex videos and free sex movies?

Pretty dang hard for a mgp to get those results without a seo expert.

99% of the prepaid seo is bullshit.

Webby 11-14-2003 06:33 PM

Yes they are both clients - roccomovies.net is currently #4 for 'free sex movies' and #8 for 'sex movies'

omnivids is #1 for 'free sex videos' and #2 for 'sex videos'

Troels 11-14-2003 06:41 PM

Todays game is not about optimizing a few individual pages.
You got to get as many pages out there as possible and you will see returns by simply playing the numbers.

Ahh fuck it - I'm too tired for this.
Good luck jojojo.
