Electronic meltdown!
wtf?
So far today I've lost: 3 hardrives, a server case, 2 landline phones, a keyboard, a DVD player, and the fucking doorbell. is it armageddon? :eek7 :helpme |
Let me be the first to ask, How?
|
Maybe its Al Queda.
|
I don't know..... shit just keeps failing. It all started around 10am... one after another, things are dying here.
|
you went postal in your office?
|
Get a multimeter
stick it in an electric outlet make sure it doesnt read over 120 volts sometimes transformers get fucked up and send too much voltage to your house, happened to me once |
on a positive note, I've lost 4 keyboards this year, but I always keep spares.... my spares are Antec keyboards. They NEVER fail. They're not the fancy boy keyboards most of you probably have, but they are fucking indestructable.
Antec = good shit |
ouch, man...and the doorbell to boot?
|
time to buy a line conditioner or ups
|
Sounds like a spike for sure
|
I have a ups on the systems, but the doorbell, the phones, and the DVD player went, and the drives on the UPS too.... something supernatural is at work here.
|
As long as the fridge still works :thumbsup

Geez Amp. WTF are you doing to your electronics?
:glugglug |

|
I'm hard on gear I guess.... I don't use kid gloves on this stuff, I use it to it's limits and then some. I swear, I wear out more shit.... stuff is supposed to be tuff.... I should be a Lab tester for UL or something.....
|
are u sure u didnt leave the miter saw running and it vibrated its way to the cord and cut it causing a short which fried your whole electric panel causing all the other things to fry????!!!

Amp...
whatever you do stay away from the garbage disposal. |

It's really not a thing to joke about. Sounds like you've got a serious electrical situation going on Amp and should have an electrician come out and check your main box and wiring. Misplaced electricity can start a fire in your walls in a flash.
Seriously, get a pro in there with equipment to check everything top to bottom. |
Maybe a random EMP from somewhere.

I hope you bought a year's home warranty on the new place.
Oh, or is that just a California thing ? |
You're not up for it... but get an electrician to put in a whole house surge-spike thingee in your main box. ;-) It took the hubby about 10-15 minutes to do. And then you don't have to worry about things as much, unless somehow power gets into your wiring system on your side of the panel. I think we paid 50 for it. And it also had phone and cable protector units included. :)
Your house insurance will cover the phones etc and I suppose you have business insurance for your gear? Well worth the few bucks a month it runs. lol |
keep the sextoys on low, they wont use that much juice:thumbsup
|
UPDATE:
just lost a printer. Apparently whatever is going on isn't done yet. |
fixed the fucking printer...
bitchslapped that fucker back into operation. punk ass printer :ak47: |

jesus christ....
in the last 24 hours my studio has gone from a well oiled machine to complete fucking chaos... wtf? :eek7 (pics coming) (if the fucking camera still works) |

Seriously man, don't fuck around with electricity. Wires can heat up inside walls and you won't even know you have a fire till it'll be too late to do anything about it. |

Definatly would think its an electrical problem with the house.
Or... Indeed Sun Flares. That shit is getting really hardcore these days. Alot of headaches and "spacy" feelings are evidenced when within high electro magnetic area's. The Solar flares are contributing to alot of not only electronic systems problems but also biological. |
Funny... right before I read this thread, my den light died & my roomate came in and showed me a burned out lightswitch and sait that the wall was hot.
|
just invest $20 in a multimeter and check the voltage in any outlet
chances are you'll need the multimeter for something else anyway since your a homeowner |
Higly active week for solar flares; a few actually went off our scale. They cause a very large amount of electromagnetic activity. :2 cents:

I have a scanner my dad got me a few years back. The other night I had it on while my son was getting ready to leave for work when I heard a call out for the fire department. It was a house fairly closeby and I wondered if it might be the same house that was pretty much gutted by fire about 8 months ago and just recently rebuilt. Turned out that it was, but I didn't know that until the next day.
The part that got me was that the dispatcher told the engine company going there that the fire was in the wall around the fireplace and that the homeowner had been putting water on the wall for the last two hours because it was hot. Well they got there, called for the axes, broke through the wall and doused the fire. House was full of smoke. They said it was electrical. Why in the hell would someone, especially someone who just finished rebuilding after a major fire, wait 2 friggin hours to call the fire department? and spend that time putting water 'on the wall"???? |
