They are entitled to their opinion, Truth Hurts. What I dislike is those Canadians who moan about us and wail & think they are morally superior, but they love the military umbrella of protection we afford them.

Then they don't have to spend any money on their military, which they don't. Imagine if Canada spent as much, GDP-wise, on their military as we do. Canada would be broke.

End of world war two... major nations have HUGE military buildup left after then end ogf the war. Each nation must now decied what to do next and how to rebuild there industrial infrostructure. USSR, perhaps the hardest hit allied super power, decieds to never again let there countrie be subject to invasion by a forgin power and votes to expand there millitary muscle. Brittian decieds to remain haveing a strong millitary, yet having being hit hard themself must rebuild the majority of the industrial base as well. The United States whoes indutrial base thrived from the war, who also has the only nukeular capabillites, maintains itself as the formost super power. The united states also decieds to withold the atom bomb tech from its eastern allies. Canada votes to downgrade the military and wer builf the indutrial base back to the pre war state realizing its ally to the south will retain its super power status and is the best soulition to the US/Canadian simbiotic relationship.

A couple years later an uneasy russion nation knows it cannot defend its borders against this new atom technologies uses covert means in stealing the tech from the canadian government who is now helping the USA secure the north american contenet. Russian gov. now builds its own nukeular sheild against an american attack.. as have the american against a russian attack... two, now perinoid governments after WW2, build there armys to prevent there border from being threatend as in WW2. Enter the cold war..

The moral is.. if you have two big bullies on the same street.. they talk alot of shit to each other.. but chances are eventually they will likely fight for who runs the shit. Now emagine Russia downgrade its armies and canada had decided to grow its war machine...

So dont go waveing your military supiriority around cause it could have been alot diffrent. When people relize Canada an the US, aside from certain cultural diffrence, are practicly the same. Be glad you have what you have and be proud. Actuly the atomic bomb was developed by english scientests, sure americans had the manhatten project, which was english work, and upon completion of the project the americans stole the technology leaving england with nothing until 1949, that would piss anyone off.

I don't see how Canadians are relying on the military umbrella of the US. I don't see North Korea talking shit about blowing up Canada. In fact, I can't recall a time in the last century that any country invaded or attacked Canada.

The only country that I know of that has ever invaded or attacked Canada was the US. US came in for whatever reason and was forced right back out... the final results... we chased them back to their capital and burned the White House down. Then went back to Canada and drank. :D

Then, in 1935... there were actually plans to do it again.

Canadians can walk proudly in just about any nation while Americans sew Canadian flags on their backpacks in hopes of being as accepted as we are.
