SEO/Google PR question
Does it matter if people link website.com vs. website.com/index.html ? Is one better to link than the other?
|
I think the anchor text is more important
|
No but it makes a difference if you use www.thehun.net and thehun.net
0 pagerank for no www 6 pagerank for www gofuckyourself.com is pr 0 www.gofuckyourself.com is pagerank 6 sometimes its 3 for no www and 0 for www if you manually type it ? strange , i never noticed that before wtf it keeps changing |

If anyone else has another link with some more info , it would be very helpfull in explaining the discrepancies noted above. |
When you request link trades its important to decide the url you want people to link to you by and stick to it. There's been examples where the PR is no different for a domain with and without the www. There's also examples that disprove this. I have found that if you have a high PR (5+) then Google is able to make the association that it's all the same site but this isn't always true.
Same goes for the html page or just the directory. Pick a url to use and don't change it or your efforts will be in vain. WG |
