You need to provide more info..

Video card
Drivers
OS etc..

If your going to output VIDEO only to the seconadary device, use the VIDEO OVERLAY controls, as long as the video file is running any size and not minimized it'll full screen the video to the seconady device. It's pretty slick how they do it, and it has its own color contrast/balance controls.

As for outputting video you need to decide how you want to split it wheter you want to SPAN it or simply have it as a second monitor.

Go through the software for your video card and play with it.

Hey Brotherberg thanks for your prompt reply.

IM running Windows xp pro and I have a nvdia geforce mx 200.

I wanna be able to play songs, surf a lil bit and talk thru messanger programs while on the couch. So i guess I wanna output more than just video per say.

Where's the option for split and span?

I will try fuck around some more.

Right-click desktop

Go settings

Go Advanced (depending on if you are using NView or not)

Click Tv output (will be two rectangles displayed, numbered)

Set as primary monitor

Ok to keep settings

You will probably need to set to 800x600 or lower with a 60Hz refresh rate for it to work on your tv.
