Yep just another business focusing on who's who in the biz and pushing the little guys out, so sick of this shit personally:(

Paul Markham 11-11-2003 05:06 AM

I'm assuming as "Industry Leaders" they expect everone else to follow them.

Got to admit this has to be the stupidest way to handle a problem, don't they know about message boards?

They should have given you an explanation and pay you any rebills, unless they caught you breaking there rules and that should be explained.

Just shows the rest who to deal or not deal with.

kenny 11-11-2003 05:11 AM

Do like I did subtract the AC mirror sites..

I love how I can not access my stats but I can find my sites on the fucking AC link list. Every single fucking AVS I own is on the AC link list pointing to a different AVS. Fuck them you guys can call me a cheater or whatever you want..

I will protect myself.. They fucked me first

Dawgy 11-11-2003 05:13 AM

i think they should pay people out on their rebills.

that just seems wrong to completely terminate webmasters and keep the rebill money.

ModelPerfect 11-11-2003 05:17 AM

Here's mine. I guess I was one of the "lucky" few...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
3:15 PM PST, November 10, 2003

Webmaster:

On November 16, 2003, Adult Check will replace its existing system with a new hybrid affiliate program. Adult Check will be removing your sites from its
system due to new banking regulations. However, out of thousands of webmasters, you are one of only a few hundred selected to join Adult Check in this new
venture.

The affiliate program will allow you to continue accumulating new sales with Adult Check at your current commission levels without the burden of having to
build, host, and maintain an adult website. A new tour system has been setup that will allow you to push traffic and make conversions similar to other
standard affiliate programs on the internet.

This new affiliate program provides you with a special opportunity to keep your rebills if you elect to join and meet the requirements of the Adult Check
Affiliate Program.

The sites affected by this notice will be removed from the links list on November 10, 2003. On or about November 16, 2003, all the sites affected by this
notice will be deactivated. AC Customers will no longer be able to access your site through the ID authentication process and no new sales will be processed
through the apply link.

As a member of our Webmaster Affiliate Program, you will have the opportunity to keep existing rebills and grow your business. You must visit your MSM to
confirm your participation as a Tier 2 affiliate. Please read the agreement carefully so that you fully understand the requirements of the program.

Should you choose not to participate, final payments will be paid out pursuant to existing accounting policies for any sums due and payable prior to
November 16, 2003.

Furthermore, if you do not participate as a Tier 2 affiliate, this email is intended to serve as our official notification to you, that as of November 15,
2003, any limited use license to use any Adult Check registered service marks is revoked and all agreements and obligations of Adult Check to you are
terminated.

We realize that this announcement may come as a surprise, and it is with regret that we must take the steps outlined above. Adult Check has always strived
to be an industry leader in regards to current and future trends, and thus we have reevaluated our entire business model. We want you to know that these

opportunity to work with you in the past and we wish you the very best of luck in your future endeavors.

wow that sucks

TaraD 11-11-2003 05:43 AM

yup it sure does when all they care about is who makes them the most money. AC has always been that way and will never change.

BrentD 11-11-2003 05:48 AM

Well it looks like proadult quantum gets the rest of my sites now, had some on PA and soem on ACG but I guess proadult will get them all now:)

Question is for those who didn't canned, to promote or not, gonna be a hard decision for you. But the thing to wonder, is what program will they push you out of next when this one doesn't work worth a shit? Theres how mahy affiliate programs already? This nothing new or amazing to us webmasters, LOL:)

ModelPerfect 11-11-2003 05:56 AM

Not wanting to mention names here, but I know of another AVS that is considerably worse. I have proof that they cushion their 1099 forms (i.e. if they paid XXXX, they might say they paid out XXXX+$2349.24) so the webmaster essentially pays their taxes for them. Nice of us, huh? We get stuck with a higher reported income than we actually received, and thus are taxed more, while they enjoy a higher deduction from the cushioned commission they allegedly paid.

This could be caught easily, save all your check stubs from throughout the year and then when you recieve your 1099 compare the totals and if they don't match up turn this avs into teh IRS and they are so done:)

kenny 11-11-2003 06:05 AM

Does this mean AVS = Dinosaur ??

Is this a end of a era?

T-rex went down... will the rest of them go down soon?

Is there room for a new innovative product..

Can somebody come up with a way to take these sites and make a quick million or two?

We have nothing but good things to look forward too..

I am sure one of the top dogs on this board is already brain scheming to come up with something to take all the ac gold masters into their pocket, give it a day or two:)

Btw if any of you are, a good signon bonus might be the trick to get alot of the ac masters into yoru program:)

I've got all my stubs, and since I keep very accurate records, I called them out on it. They said it was an accidental error on their part and sent me a corrected 1099. This happened 3 years in a row, each time to their benefit. That's got to be intentional or the worst record keeping for a major player in the history of AVS. I wonder how many webmasters simply paid this AVS's taxes?

Based on my estimations, they screwed the IRS out of tons of money. The IRS has a plan to pay snitchers a percentage of any money they recover, but I have a friend that's a tax lawyer and he says they usually find a way NOT to pay and you "unofficially" end up on the audit list for your involvement with a "shady" company. Not sure if that's true, but I'd rather not have the headache.

The only reason I stayed with this company was because they seemed to pay on time, so as long as I double-checked the 1099s, I figured I was cool. Not so. I also have reason to suspect they have been shaving sign-ups and clicks-throughs from the full page ad option, but no tangible proof. I do find it odd that I still got click-throughs from my site, even though I totally removed them and even shut down one of the sites...maybe a surfer bookmarked the referrer URL or something.

I REALLY want to say, but honestly I'm scared of a defamation laywuit or something like that. But their initials were the same as Adult Check's at one time, but now they're inversed because they changed their name.

just a punk 11-11-2003 03:47 PM

Hey guys! Don't think it's a good idea to loop on AC. There are lot's of other great AVS... Why don't you give a chance to ProAdult? We working with this AVS for a long time and we are happy!

basschick 11-11-2003 04:00 PM

i especially like the 6 days notice adultcheck gave their webmasters. really nice, guys. great business practices!

Ross 11-11-2003 04:01 PM

Surely you must have known it was coming?
VISA are slowly but surely taking down one AVS at a time.

hottoddy 11-11-2003 04:15 PM

I can understand the few Tier 1 & 2 people playing ball for a little while to milk some rebills. But if they plan to stay and really put an effort into AC's new venture, they're crazy.

:321GFY AC

Horny Dude 11-11-2003 04:24 PM

Guess I better get my McDonalds uniform out of the closet!:(

This fucking sucks! AVS is all about doing a bit of good in this industry and now it is going down hill. I never pushed AC because I never liked their attitude about the biz. I use other programs to *protect* my sites and I hope they don't follow the same course.

:helpme

dareutwo 11-11-2003 04:27 PM

Fuck You AC - nough said

jeroman 11-12-2003 03:08 AM

Yepp, fuck AC.

Been good money though, haven't touched the sites for
2-3 years and still money was coming in every month
without doing anything. Just pay the host bill.

Well, it sure worked longer than I expected and it's sad
seeing the pioneer in this industri go down.
Guess they had bad management ,who else would fuck
up a company like that, being around since the beginning and all.

johnbosh 11-12-2003 03:10 AM

still A mistory for me why they stopped:(

People may not like me personally, and they may think I am an asshole, but no one can say I am not honest, so when I give you my word that we will not screw you over, you can take that to the bank. :thumbsup

Yes. Move your sites over to baddog. His program will now assume the responsibility for processing for thousands of webmasters for whom he's never met and/or done biz with before. He'll be able to monitor each and every site 24/7 to make sure that no webmaster slips in a redirect to something that absolutely pisses of VISA/MC and puts his company's merchant accounts in hot water.

Oh honey, you don't know baddog very well do you? LMAO
If there is one person in this industry that could do JUST EXACTLY that, it would be baddog.

Say what you want about baddog, I have known him for a very long time, and he can be a "pill" sometimes, but ALWAYS ALWAYS in the name of honesty and integrity....... I have seen him go after people A LOT and sometimes, as much as I love him, I wanna kick his ass, BUT he's DAMN good at what he does and I LOVE that he's around. The industry needs MORE like him....... those who care about the HONEST webmasters in the business and caters to them!! :thumbsup

Anyone who knows baddog would know that he'd never say one thing and do another. I guarantee that what ever he says, is exactly what he intends to do, and will do.

As he said, a lot of people have gotten into huge arguments with him on the boards, and a lot of those people are good friends with him today... and all of them know that despite any pissing they'd have with him about anything, they can always trust him to be good to his word.

baddog is stubborn like that actually. If he says he'll do something, and you criticize or question it... he'll do it, and probably even do it bigger so he can prove just how wrong the skeptics were.

Above everything else, I believe baddog's greatest asset is his integrity. And anyone who knows him at all knows that they can always count on it.

But then isn't this Kel person the same idiot that says Adult Check screwing 1000's of people and buggering offshore just before hand is a good business decision? Funny that. I've always thought theft and good business to be seperate things, especially as the first will always eventually bite you in the ass. Just goes to show - a clue is something Kel doesn't have.
