nope, then everyone would have tp promote his own sites, and it would be much harder for a newb to start

assmonkey 11-11-2003 02:33 AM

And if there were no sponsors, what would you be promoting?

Nothing. You'd be wearing a paper fucking Burger King hat right now.

most money made privately. I know so-called top affiliates at so-called big sponsors who make jack.

As a sponsor I agree!!

Too short a time ago were the days when I battled sending traffic to "big" sponsors.

Fuck all support and fuck all assistance really (there WERE exceptions of course!!), but generally, treated as just another number.

We treat our partners as just that - partners in our business.

Because without you guys we truly would be nowhere near what we are today.

:thumbsup

EvilToyBoy maybe some sponsors should take a leaf out of your book, instead of being sleazy and allowing the shit they let go by, fair enough I'm a nobody in this business I onlly generate about 120 signups a month with my main sponsor but fuck it I work hard and dont cheat and I'm sick of all the crap they allow other C U N T S to get away with

kenny 11-11-2003 02:48 AM

If a sponsor is good and the sites convert well everybody well make a ton of money =)

It takes two or thousands to dance :glugglug

Sponsors that rely on affiliates for su's would be FUCKED.

For those that diversify, it wouldn't hurt them all that much.

We don't RELY totally on affiliates, but instead recognize our partners as an extremely important part of our business.

I treat them the way I wish I had have been treated way back when as a noob (which, MANY people here seem to forget, they ALL were once upon a time!!).

ANy good business is only as good as the sales team you have working with you......

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 11-11-2003 04:02 AM

More importantly really... What would affiliates be without Sponsors? Yes indeed Chicken and egg.

But the fact is...

An affialiate would have no clue how to transact or make sure a transaction occurs with traffic and the hassle of many many more things that traffic peeps have little knowledge of.

Sooooo...
If think you can do both sides why the fuck you sending traffic to affiliates?

Just accept that what ever side your on, your programmed to perform the best way you can to make the most money for yourself. Thus at the end of the day we all get paid.

I am talkin about Symbiosis here.

That my friend, is a fact, and one I have pointed out here many times.

Who was it that said:
Be nice to people on the way up because you might be needing them on the way down

I can never forget where I came from and how I started, that's where my attitude in helping others comes from.

I wish more sponsors had that point of view, but will you still have that same view when your rich? no disrespect intended

And no disrespect taken my friend.

I have been at this for a long time. Relatively new to posting on GFY does not mean relatively new.

I make enough now to have time to post and have some fun.

In short - no - my attitude ain't gonna change.

I figure the more I have the more I can afford to help people make themselves (and myself) more.

That's my business model and I ain't complaining.

Pay it forward is an attitude not an opinion.

We have our own marketing in place - Like most sponsors.

We do everything possible to ensure our partners make cash - Because if they do, we do.

kenny 11-11-2003 04:36 AM

Affilate scale model I would think benifits a popular program above all. For this simple reason, a sponsor will make more money with affilates if they run a high converting program where everybody wants to promote it. The popular sponsors reach places where they could not without affilates.

At the same time affilate structure programs most likely increase the quality of paysites. Simply because they compete towards affilates. Retention and conversion ratios are more important in that aspect.

Of course I am drunk and could be completely wrong:winkwink:

Aussie Rebel 11-11-2003 04:36 AM

EvilToyBoy you sound like a stand up guy mate (but being an Aussie explains that j/K for you wowzers) and if I ever decide to sell gay porn I would be happy to sign up for your program :thumbsup
good luck with it mate and respect to ya :thumbsup

Hey don't get me wrong - so would I, and still do quite well. That is NOT the point of what I am saying.

But I'd rather have people to spend my money with and KNOW we helped each other make it.

Now THAT is the shit.

Do anyone know the amount of signups without an affliate code that a average sponsor have?

Yep... I also run a tgp... www.thumbwhore.com, I get tons of Bang bus, bang boat and so on... I have to reject most of them because they are all using the same images... over and over again everyday. But.. hey if they are making money you can't blame them... but to say we need them and would be no where without them is just not true.
