IE help...

When I click on a download link it doesn't ask for a location to put the file in and downloads in to a temp folder...
how can I change that?

Tools > Internet Options

Security Options > Custom Level

Is that the download prompt you have disabled?

I have never had this happen to me. If you are convinced its just a browser setting just go back to the default settings. Tools--Options--Advanced--Restore Defaults.

Work back from there.

What does it do when you right click and click save target as. That should prompt you to choose a folder.

Make sure you did all the basics as well. Clear the cache and reboot the machine if you havent done so.

You can try going to Explorer (NOT IE)
then Tools->Folder Options
then File Types

find zip, and click on restore defaults?
