Visa/MC Debit cards and Charge backs...
Do they give you the same security as acustomer as a regular credit card ?
Meaning alot of people are using the Debit cards now , and can they do a "chargeback" or better term would be a "debitback"? |
CB % via DC >> CC :(

Some banks don't allow chargebacks or even protection from theft, so it depends on the bank in a lot of cases. Most will try to make the customer happy but with debit cards they don't seem to always go that extra mile.
The credit card companies have incentive because they've fronted the money and the customer hasn't paid yet (and could dispute and NOT pay). With a debit card, the customer has already had the money deducted from their account so the bank doesn't have to worry if they get paid or not. |

yes they can do a chargeback
|
i'm sure it depends on whether or not they used their debit card as a credit card where they had to sign for the purchase or as a debit card where they entered their pin number.
as for website chargebacks.. they used it like a credit card. so they could do a chargeback. |
Bank of America treats them like a normal credit card from my experience. I have gotten chargebacks issued from online purchases and such.
|
they HAVE to treat the same.. visa doesn't allow discrimination between a visa cc/debit card, visa debit cards are accepted where you see the visa logo, if they're not someone will get an ass kicking :2 cents:

my bank didnt allow chargebacks on debit cards, maybe some do
|
wouldn't that be nice if you could use your debit card like your CC for online purchases, no more need for visa? or am i totally fucking stupid?
