yeah been playing it out before the RADIO gets to it.

When I first heard it, I thought it was weak too. The hooks are corny, but a lot of songs have great lyrics. Not another Reasonable Doubt, but it aint no Blueprint 2.

<IMX> 11-07-2003 07:59 PM

Yeha its a smart move for Jay-z, get out of the game.

Do spots and write ghost lyrics and still make a mil a year on that--and not have to promote your shit like Snoop.

When is Jigga's porn site comming out?

lol.

aaron 11-07-2003 08:00 PM

EH, the CD has a couple good tracks but in general, im disapointed. :(

Captain 11-07-2003 08:23 PM

The Black Album is the best album I heard since the release of "Ready To Die" by BIG.

I give it 10 out of 10. There is more to an album besides "hooks" and "beats" JayZ is the best lyricist out-there with out a doubt, not to mention the most successful. The whole album he is telling a story not once repeating himself - unlike most of these dumb "rappers" :2 cents:

nap 11-07-2003 09:33 PM

tdf i don't usually disagree with you but this album is nice. at first i thought the album was subpar but now that i have actually listened to the album i like it. considering this is suppose to be his last album(yea fucking right) i expected more though

bigdog 11-07-2003 09:46 PM

Every album jayz has put out lately has been shit.It seems like he does all his albums in one day.

VirtuMike 11-07-2003 09:50 PM

I thought you were either talking about Metallica or Spinal Tap.

Ain't no love in the heart of the city. Ain't no love in the heart of town.

Anyway - The tracklisting/tracks featured on the leaked album are not the real album. The current album online was intentionally leaked to mislead bootleggers.

Dude, are you serious?

I wouldn't even doubt that what you said is true....Jigga is one smart dood.

Please confirm with some sort of reliable source =D

Hustlin Entertainment 11-07-2003 11:41 PM

Get G Unit- Beg for mercy it'll be a better waste of money than jigga's black album.

But then you have to really stop and ask yourself, did G-Unit hold you down eight summers? ;)

n0de 11-08-2003 12:16 AM

And unline G-unit, Jigga's songs are always deep and come from the heart with a message that almost everyone could relate to.

As for G-unit, it's always the same bullshit that goes something like "I will rob you, kill you, blah blah blah". G-unit is music for all the wana bee G's out there who are too stupid to relate to any real knowledge; even if it hit them in the face.

TDF 11-08-2003 02:59 AM

the timberland track,dj quik track, and lucifer are the best songs on the album..it seems jigga was trying to hard on this album being his final one

IMHO it is a classic

Tytan 11-08-2003 06:59 AM

Give Dr Dre credit he started this whole rap thing off with NWA, right now you see 50 cent & Eminem who can do no wrong.

Gotta mention 2pac & biggie, west coast & east coast thing, these days its 50 Cent v Ja Rule (holllllaaaaaaa) hehehehe.

p.s G-Unit

ChumpChange 11-08-2003 07:12 AM

Maybe because he decided to write this album instead of flowing from the dome...'if it ani't broke then don't fix it'

also he won't do the numbers g-unit will do since they're dropping the same day, this will surely fuck up his ego

nope, but I was following him closely since 97 or so..when I was with Interscope we wanted to sign him but it never came to fruition

TDF 11-08-2003 10:24 AM

one of my fav. tracks from the album

Burridge 11-08-2003 11:02 AM

Every time I open a thread about music on this board, I'm always disappointed, most of you guys have 0 taste in any music. whether it be Rock n Roll, Electronic Music, or Hip Hop.

Black Album is an instant hip hop classic, where the only thing that outshines that absolutely flawless production on each track is Jay's original, and honest lyrics, and godly delivery.

You're all a bunch of hicks.
