True Crime: Streets of LA
Anyone played this yet? I got it sitting here but I've been stuck on SSX3 for a while, that game is bad ass.
Is it just another GTA type game? I get bored of those pretty quickly... I've herad its a lil max payne and a lil gta... which might make it bearable... not to mention that the soundtrack "Includes over 50 original songs from Snoop Dogg, Westside Connection and more." |
It was released here today and looks pretty sweet, but I have to wait a few days until it arrives........... I'll be fucked if I'm going to pay 30% over the odds in some shitty highstreet store. :321GFY

WH Smith price: 39.99. yeah right. :321GFY |
Personally, I think it sucks... I wouldn't NOT recommend it, but on the other hand, I wouldn't recommend it either. Way too many better games out there to waste your time and money on True Crimes.

Umm you say you wouldn't recommend it and on the other hand you wouldn't recommend it...Does that mean that you really think it sucks?
I saw a commercial for it yesterday it looks good but not as fun as GTA Explain your hatred for the game. I'm thinking of buying it. Quote:

If your using the trailer as the sole basis of your purchasing decision, you'll be disappointed. That was the main focus of my reply. However, I guess some would say it's OK. The graphics are better in a sense (has both ups and downs), special effects are much better than GTA. Gameplay is slow, targeting blows. If your used to playing GTA for so long, it could take some getting used to the control of your character. Special moves and gun tricks are cool, but not as easy to learn as I would have liked. Think of it more as a cross between "Getaway" and "GTA vice city" but with a story line. I guess one other cool part about it, is that you choose your destiny (story changes according to what you do in situations)
I guess it could be half good if you put some serious playtime in, but out of the box I was hooked on vice city. You will not get that feeling when you get this one home. This is of course based on comparison with vice city, and games alike, such as driver and getaway. A gamer with different interests could find it to be an excellent choice. Hope that makes sense. I guess for $30 it would be an ok choice, you can always turn around and sell it to some kid for $15-$20 if you don't like it. |
P.S. prolly my favorite effects is the vehicle damage. prolly my biggest peeve would be the targetting/killing of the enemy being much harder than most. And the cars driving just feels weird.

I am hooked on GTA Vice City. I thought nothing could be better than the Getaway but GTA Vice City is just awesome.
I think True Crime seems like it will be second best to GTA Vice City. I have not played it though and these are only thoughts I have gathered from online reviews etc. |
Last night we picked up the new GTA combo pack for X-Box. It's going to be a looong weekend!

I played it, and it is definitely pretty cool. Just having it laid out as a real city, and with a map so big, makes it pretty interesting.
But like was mentioned before, it has some cool characteristics, multiple endings, lots of special moves, but the game as a whole doesn't seem to draw you in like the GTA games do. I'm still not sure if it's worth $50. |
Hiya tical! Remember me from webmaster chat on irc? been a long time, hehe
