How to Disable View Source in Menu Bar?

Guys, I know how to disable the right click. Anyone of you knows how to disable view source in the menu bar?

Thanks in advance!

Why bother?

If someone wants to view the source, and you have java disabled it, they will simply save the page and view it in their own editor -

I know you already have it but putting this in your body tag is a shorter way to disable the right click menu...

oncontextmenu="return false"

In case you are using JS which can potentially stop the SE spiders from crawling your sites in some cases :thumbsup

Good to see there are these many tech experts in house. I would like to know how to turn on "view source" function in my computer. Of course I know "view", "view source" in the menu bar, it just doesn't work on this damn computer.

:helpme

Sometimes you can fix that by clearing your browser cache. If it's a persistent problem or you see other symptoms, it's probably a corrupt DLL. I had that problem a couple of times and had to replace a specific DLL by copying it off my Windows CD but

A) I don't remember which DLL it was
and
B) That was in Windows 98, I think. I am guessing you probably use XP so it may or may not be the same DLL-related problem.

I am using XP. I guess it's not the problem with the DLL, but will try to find out. Thanks.

This computer used to be able to view source. Maybe that's because of the cache? Let me clear it and see.

I went to Microsoft's tech support site, and got totally confused. :(

I don't think you can disable the view source code of an html page, coz there are several ways to see your view source so I don't think any certain hahahahahahahahahaha can hide your script

johnbosh 11-06-2003 05:03 AM

you can change your code or alternate but not hide it
