for all the people who do this
is it possible to send ringtones from 1 cellphone to the other?

I have never heard of being able to do that. I am sure there are measures to prevent that otherwise they couldn't sell them as everyone would just trade like mp3's.

It's possible on my old Nokia 3310. I'm not sure for the new generation phones with polyphonic ringtones :2 cents:

i think with cingular you can, however, i have been trying to d/l ringtones, but when i put in my password in, its wrong. but... i can get into my account,,,,,,,,,,,screwed up deal. I gotta call them now and waste four hours on hold probably

Its possible on older phones, but the new generation all have DRM built in which stops this.

On the subject of ringtones and mobile content. Would you all take on an affiliate program to sell this type of content?

We are about to launch our UK based mobile entertainment portal and this post has given me the idea, high traffic sites would make a killing from this.

The only drawback is that we are not sure on the ringtone market in the US is it maturing or still a very new sector?

of course you can but then it depends on the cel unit and model...
like for nokia 3310 since it has composer, it can send ringtones to other nokia cel units...:thumbsup

.........I should add it has full affiliate tracking built in and we can make a plug-in module for your existing sites so if you have a traffic program your affiliates can earn money from it too :Graucho
