Google v. Overture?
Google v. Overture?
An interesting article found via slashdot.org, from The Economist. http://www.economist.com/displaystor...ory_id=2173573 Google is now more than a business: it is a cultural phenomenon. But where will it be in a few years? Very interesting article about Google's weaknesses as well as a comparison of economic model's with Ebay, Amazon and Alta Vista. Any way...it is worth a read before you assign any particular value (Beyond the "eyeball/brandvalue/Internet Bubble Part II" valuation to Google's IPO. Remember IPO means cashing out for the big players ;) |
Google Hands down, Overture 's editiing process is such a pain.

Would have to say Google but what do I know.

They each have their advantages and disadvantages. Overall, they do convert around the same for me but Overture is more expensive now for new listings (I got quite a few grandfathered listings).

Right and currently Google and Overture split the contextual search market...google gives a larger margin of profit to sites in its network though.
Since adwords is Google's largest rev stream... It is hard to see Google at a 15-20 Billion dollar market cap.... While Yahoo! purchased Overture for a bit over 1.5 Billion. Quote:
