Luke Skywalker actor removes Star Wars from his resume
British to American dictonary: CV = Resume
- Luke Skywalker actor removes Star Wars from his CV The actor who played Luke Skywalker in Star Wars has removed all direct references to the films from his cv. Mark Hamill says he wants to be known as more than "just the guy with a light saber". Hamill, now 52, is drawing attention to his other movies, his hundreds of cartoon voice-overs, his comic book work, the CD-ROMs and his Broadway plays. He said: "It seems to me that it's semi-fraudulent for me to be still playing on it. It seems to me that I just owe the public new product. If I wanted to be a nostalgia artist, boy, I could embrace it wholeheartedly." Hamill's newest product is "Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks" a two-actor comedy. |

Mark Hamill a mediocre actor. He has done a lot of cool cartoon and video game work, though.
As for drawing attention to his other works, I have two words for you: Corvette Summer. OK, that was mostly for effect. I actually kind of liked Corvette Summer but still, it's not exactly Hamlet. SpaceAce |

Y'know, believe it or not Hamill is a very good actor! I was suprised! His best work is when he plays a heavy though.
He used to live around the corner from our comic book store in NY and would stop by several times a month to pick up his comics. I remember the first time I met him I was behind a bookstand talking with one of the store chaps and I heard some girl running her mouth out in the main area. I went to look and only saw this dude standing there. Then I went back to doing what I was doing and kept hearing some girl flapping her gums but everytime I peeked out that dude was standing there. Then I heard the door slam and a few minutes later one of the guys says to me I shoulda come out and said hi to Mark Hamill. I stood there shocked! I says, I didn't see or hear Mark Hamill all I saw was some short guy with a beard standing near the counter and some girl flapping her jawbones. That's when they told me that's how he talks in real life. Then a few months later I saw him on a tv special and that's how he talked. He's really a nice guy though and when he wants to can really act his ass off. |

I suppose that after all of the years of Star Wars Geeks chasing him around for pics and autographis, he just wants to forget about it, ha ha ha.
|
If I were him I would be exploiting the shit out of my connection to Star Wars.
If the actors from Star Trek are stilling making bank off appearances 30 yrs later, imagine what Hamill could be making around the time new Star Wars movies come out. "Cartman, you don't know anything about christians." "I know enough to exploit them." |
