Do you have what it takes?
Dedication, Talent, Funding, Thick Skin, Business Sense, Respect...for yourself and others, etc etc etc......
This business is FULL of cutthroats. These days, only the strong survive. Every day I see a new bunch of newbies wander into the scene. Most of them don't have a fucking clue and would not know where to get one or what to do with it if it were sitting in their mailbox. I read the threads where people are trying to find a way around the system and in doing so, they make things worse for the rest of us. Visa: The fees suck. So fucking what? Take your broke ass to the mainstream job market or pay the fucking fees and STFU. Acacia: WTF do you really know about these people? For most of you, not a God Damn thing. Yet you all have something to say about it. Affiliate Programs: "So and so did not pay me." 99.9% of the time it's because YOU fucked up. Not the program owners. Follow the T.O.S. and you will get paid. Hosting: You get what you pay for you cheap bastard. Content: Don't even get me started about this one. What's the bottom line? Pull your head out of your ass. Conduct business THE RIGHT WAY. Don't fuck people over. Remember who helped you get what you got. Develop strong relationships that are beneficial to BOTH parties. Be original. Be yourself, Don't be Luc Lonely. You WILL get kicked in the teeth, You Will get fucked over and if you do things right, You will come out on top. My name is AaronM, and I am running for President of GFY! :thumbsup |

Oddly enough, you make me feel like I should quit... and like a true GFY'er, I won't anyway.
However, I will vote for you as Pres of GFY. :thumbsup |
cheers Aaron
..you touch tangentally on a point that I feel very strongly about, and that is maintaining the legitimacy of the industry as a whole. When individuals decide to cheat, undermine, break the laws or otherwise detract from the legitimacy of the group, something that guys who have been around since the early-mid 90s worked so hard to establish, it makes everyone's job harder. Just as in any service industry, the needs of the customer take precedence over the comfort of the provider. Treating customers and colleagues with the same honest and ethical business practice you would expect in any other enterprize is a vital component to individual success. Reap what you sow. |
Aaron M for President!!
Aaron, can I copy/paste that to that 'other' board (NW)? Sometimes those little whiners really get on my tits and that post would shut them up for a while. |
