    Porn Photographers...Who Is The Best?

    There are a gillion porn/adult photos on the web but I don't see too many props given to the photogs themselves.

    One guy who's work I like is Tobe Garrett. If you know him send him berserk props.

    Any other photogs, videographers, filmographers who deserve notice and do they have websites to show off their stuff?

                      i don't like Suze Randall at all - her stuff is way fake looking and hasn't changed much from her stuff in 80's skin magazines.

                      Stephen Hicks is good. The dude who shoots BlueNudes is good.
                      Harvey Butts is good. Defrancesco is good - too much airbrushing tho, girls don't look real. There are tons of good photographers.

                      I'll pass your compliment along to Tobe Garrett. Him and Wanton are tight.
                      I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

                          To this day I haven't seen a porn flick that I didn't want to change a bit - some stay still and become too boring, others move too quickly. Frankly, it's best when you do it yourself.

                          Erotic movies are another issue - I guess SUZE rules ;-)

                                      No shit! You know Tobe Garrett??? I'll tell you, I paint and draw people's portraits for over 30 years. I'm a master at it. When I look at photos I can tell how much special effects are done.

                                      Tobe Garrett's stuff I saw was at Aunt Judy's site. It's a mature site so the photos have to look natural to get all the detail a mature woman has. He had a set of a model that was so crisp and sharp you could almost touch it. I was one remark away from askin' her out on a date the photos were so clear. I don't know what camera he used but it's gotta be top of the line. He made her look GOOD!

                                      Same with his other photos but this one set got me. I thought I was looking at HDTV. What was weirder was there's a woman in my neighborhood who looks just like the model he shot and she freaked when she saw the photos because she too thought I had an HDTV monitor.

                                      I hope he has landscapes and other subjects too cause I for one would like to see em'.

                                          Max Candy does some outstanding work. Top notch stuff and he's creative with his shoots. He uses perfect color combinations between clothing and the surroundings and really makes the subject pop out of the background. I love the way he uses beautiful props, but their effect is very subtle so you really notice the models and the scenery doesn't overpower them.

                                                      Wow, I couldn't have said that better myself. I haven't known him that long and just recently got involved with his content as in really studying it and so on. Working for Cool Content has brought me closer to his work and I have to completely agree with you here.

                                                      And no I am not just saying this because we have his content in our store, his work is amazing and you can visibly tell just by looking at his work that it's way more than a job, it's a passion........ when the passion is visible, the work shows it.

                                                          Max Candy sounds like the kind of photog who cares about what he does.

                                                          I'll tell you, I used to edit photos and bank them for major news services. I would see hundreds of photos from various photogs from around the world. Looking at alot of adult photogs/video/film some of these people are SUPERIOR. I've seen some photos shot on outdoor locations that were just stunning to say the least. It's a combination of skills and props, makeup etc. all have to be in the right place.

                                                          Yet in some instances the model is so drop dead gorgeous that you could shoot her pics in a swamp and she'd still look good.

                                                          But when you get that top knotch photog, and that model who knows how to do it, you get a winning combination that becomes art!

                                                                                                  That actually would depend on how you like your content. Do you like very amateur shot at home style like pixmasters? Do you like it airbrushed to cover all photography mistakes like randall and matrix? or do you like high quality content with simple adjustments like brightness and contrast like mayes and lace and such?

                                                                                                                                                      Well I'm a happy camper because my favorite Tobe Garrett just emailed me.

                                                                                                                                                      Photography like portrait painting/drawing is not only the talent of the artist but the subject as well. Some people are just great to photograph or draw. Even with a rotten camera.

                                                                                                                                                      Yet when you get a subject that isn't, THAT'S where the artist's talent comes into play. A top photog knows just what to do especially the photogs that shoot models without all that glitz and special effects. I don't get turned on by airbrushed glamour girls, I like the natural looking stuff that looks like women I would see on the street or at the office.

                                                                                                                                                      Some of the new digital cameras are so sharp they catch everything. It's amazing. I remember wayyy back in '97 a guy in Sweden shot a woman who was in her late 40s. A blonde with a wee bit of sunburn but those photos were shot with a new camera and were so clear and lush the pics were a major hit all over the newsgroups. Astounding.

                                                                                                                                                      So it's a combination of talent on both ends of the camera but the bottom line falls on the photog. He's got to know his stuff and the proof is in the signups!

I remember a fan of mine sent me pics of a woman named 'Rach' or 'Rachel'. She was supposedly photogaphed by her husband over a period of years. Some of his pics were magnificent. You could tell they were taken over a time period of ten years or more. His later pics of her were quite striking and they were worthy!

                                                                                                                                                                                  Also, if you look at the old nudist pics from the 50s and 60s some of them are downright awesome. Back in the days when you used chemicals to develope pics.

                                                                                                                                                                                      It is hard to tell from straight porn pics what someone could really do if they were allowed to be more creative. I guess my choices lean towards more art or erotic, but for their output as it stands, I would choose Petter Hegre and Grigori Galitsin.

                                                                                                                                                                                      I think that now porn is getting so much more exposure than it used to via mags, we need to freshen it up some. All the guys mentioned in this thread do great stuff, but how much can you see before it all starts to run together?

                                                                                                                                                                                      A few years back I worked on non-porn with an Israeli called Micha Kirshner. I once gave him the job of photographing a car tire - by itself - in a way that would let the pic sit across a double spread of a style magazine and not be out of place. I really thought it would be tough, but he did it in a couple of hours. One of these days I shall ask him if he wants to do some nude stuff.

Well just cause a guy shoots nudes or porn don't mean he ain't an artist with a camera. Far from it! Fine art worldwide begins with either nudes/sex, monsters and religion. Goes all the way back to caveman days. We haven't changed much other than the tools.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  Sports photogs are not that much different. They have to capture the action and the emotional content. Tough but I've met and worked with the best. Believe you me, some of the photogs and models I've seen in porn/adult could hold their own with the mainstream any day of the week.
