Cut or uncut? For all who have had foot surgery.

So here's the deal. I was born with club feet and have never been able to bend my left foot more than 40 degrees. I had a specialist look at it and it looks like there is a bone obstruction barring forward mobility.

The surgery I'm told is common and would only take an hour. However I wanted to get some feedback from those who've had similar operations and their recovery stories.

Am I going to recover or bitch when the weather gets cold?

You always run those risks screwing with Mother Nature.... You could have no consequences or be stuck with them for the rest of your life.... so... How badly does your foot bother you the way it is now? So much that you are willing to life with post surgery related pain % difficulties IF they arise?

My mother just had surgery a few weeks ago on one foot to correct a severe bunion and it took her about 6 weeks to get back to 90% mobility. Doctor says she should be back to 100% in another 2 weeks. She was up walking in about a week, though. She's going to have the other foot done in January. I know this is not as serious as having a club foot operated on, but I thought it might help to know that she bounced back rather quickly. I wish you lots of luck with it if you decide to go through with the surgery. :)

I had surgery but not the one you would be having and I can tell when it's going to rain better than the weather man.

:2 cents:

Glad to hear someone has recovered from surgeries :)
Since it only involves drilling out a piece of bone (no dorking with tendons and ligaments) I think I can recoup in a few weeks.
