why dont all of you instead of posting all day about acacia call acacia all day till they answer your ?'s

think about it thousands of webmasters asking thousands of ? all day long . this would help educate the rest of the people around here with all the info you could get from acacia..

I mean they are a huge company and should have hundreds of people to take calls :winkwink:

also for all you webmasters who dont have any thing to do with acacia and dont need there packets make sure you send them back in a new envolope so they can have there staff read your mail....

everytime you talk to these morons the shit changes...
why would anyone even bother calling them is beyond me..

I'm surprised with all the talent in here no one has hacked their servers yet.

Ya people hack sponsors becuase they feel like it but when a big company spits on them they stand around and post that they dont now why they got the letters

If one is going to call Acacia anyways ... have some real fun...wouldn't recommend saying you received a letter or not...instead say something like you heard about their licensing and want to learn more...explain you are curious about what licensing rates they're offering.

I think the lowest published rate is $1,500/year for gross sales upto $50,000...

Here's the challenge...

Try to negotiate a better deal...and then post it here...

Be fun to see how low Acacia will go...maybe as little as $1 or perhaps even less!?

I own three TGPs and I received "the package" on friday of last week. I was shocked because I don't own any paysites nor do I have any video files on my server.

As soon as I got home, I called the number on the letter. I was only able to talk to a secretary. She said to call next week to talk to someone, so I called yesterday and she someone would have to call me back. Today, as I'm trying to take a damn nap, my phone rings... it's the bad people. I explained my situation and that I'm only linking to sponsors and galleries that are submitted to me. He said that I would be able to link to picture galleries that promote sponsors that have video, as long as the galleries do not belong to me. I would be unable to link to video galleries even if they don't belong to me. I asked him about linking directly to sponsors on my sites and he said that I could as long as they have been licensed.

I then asked about getting licensed, so that I wouldn't have to shut down or completely change the sites. He said that the fee is determined by how much you make. If you make under $50,000 the fee is $1,500 per year. I laughed at him! I said that I only made $2,100 last year and that was before my hosting charges. I told him that it might be double that this year, but I'm only doing this part-time. I said that if I had to pay the $1,500 I'd be forced to shut down. He said that he would see if he can figure a reduced rate for my situation.

I'm waiting on a return call from him. I'll keep you posted...

It occurs to me... that Acacia knows it can not 'double dip' on charges.. and probably does not think OR believe it can or will charge webmasters for their 'patent'..... I believe thier thought process is, that if webmaster's start running scared, and start moving links to ONLY those programs that have 'settled'.. that OTHER programs will start feeling the heat, and will be persuaded to 'settle'.

They dont want OR expect money from ordinary webmaster's that simply link to programs providing video.. they want US do do THEIR job, and apply pressure on Sponsor programs for THEM to acceed to the pressure....

More webmasters promoting a sponsor who has settled = more money for Acacia when their cut comes out. So it's no wonder they are pressing us to only promote such sponsors.

don't make it any easier on acacia and do NOT make it seem like a viable solution to the sponsors that haven't licensed!

as far as the phone thing
wouldn't THIS be in interesting loop -
they say we can link to sponsors that have signed with them
but .... we don't KNOW who all has signed yet, only a handful ...
sooooo... isn't it essential for a webmaster to find out who all has signed???

I think the suggestion of putting on the fake 'i'd like to find out more and comply with your patent rules' persona, then luring the greedy fly with honey to divulge the info is especially good.

People need to stand up and play the game.. Acacia is playing the game and they are playing hard.

Usually the guy that plays the hardest wins. But if tons of mofo;s rise up and fight then i dont care how big you are you will fall..

If webmasters dont act like LOW HANGING FRUIT like i do believe they consider all of us. there game will move on and it will be hassle free.

As it is right now people are raising money and raising money and tring to raise money. But fact is during this period dont make acacias life easier.

THEY WORK US WE WORK THEM.. if this job is a cake walk for them then its over we all would have to sign and fucking hand over a brown bag to them every month just like we would to the mob,
