I called them dumbasses...that might have done it...

I got a letter from them yesterday to my home address, first and last name, no company attached. It's impossible for them to even have my last name. The only time it has been given out is when I do the Internext stuff and the booth crap. Now, I own NO TGP's, paysites, programs, have never bought content, etc. I called them on it and asked what am I in violation of. They said I use their technology, when I stated that I have no business doing anything with it and I DO NOT own anything, he suggested I let the courts handle it. Then we I repeatedly asked how they got my name I got the response "A team of researchers." I said bullshit, you got it from some list that someone gave you. He said "Well, ma'am you just answered your own question." Then some more back and forth shit, then when I wasn't being professional enough, he hung up on me.

fuck them, i got letters to me personally (m****x love) but all of my business is done through my corporation... haven't got that one yet

i hate this... even if the patents don't stand, it's annoying having this shit on your shoulders.

i spoke with acacia friday. someone - probably berman, i was told - would call me monday. it's tuesday and i haven't heard from them.

I'm so annoyed, the guy was an asshole too. I told him that I do not use his technology, he told me I had two choices, to settle or not. I told him there was no reason to settle, because I have never used it. I said "one company in the adult biz has my last name." Then I continued and was talking to him and reminded him that I don't use shit, he said "Yes you do, you just said you bought content." I said, "hell no, I said one company has my last name and that's AVN for InterNext for booth consulting." When I asked what I violated or where I violated, they could not answer me.

You people are nuts for calling them.

Dude get used to it. This is business. Everyone wants to take money out of your pocket and into their pocket anyway they can. That's what the game is all about. He who picks the most pockets wins.

And this is only the beginning. Where there is one roach, there are hundreds more in the walls just waiting to come out.

All the packets that everyone (including myself) are getting.. are bogus.. All the basically say is that they would like it if you wouldnt mind giving them a percent. They dont threaten any lawsuits, or anything. All they state is that you have untill November 30th to get there "special rates".

Now.. Come november 30th if I receive any lawsuit threats.. You better beleive I will be sueing them right back for harrasment..

I wouldn't mind so much if I was actually in violation, if I had a site or something....

in order to prove that somebody is violating they would need to show evidence to substantiate the claim, otherwise you can counter sue them for harassment (although thats not what it's really called.. but i'm not a lawyer).

I'm not saying anything for sure...but as far as I am aware of they are only the ones that have my full name and that address. Who knows, they could have given it to someone a long time ago and then another person give it to Acacia. I am not sure on that part, it really makes me wonder. I use to get faxes from people and mail for booth shit in which AVN were the only people with that kind of info.

I called them up yesterday to see what domain was in violation they told me a domain that is just a dead link it's a 404 with no page on it.. I then told them unless they have recently aquired the patent for the 404 error not to contact me agin.. and hung up.
