I'm not surprised really.
Any publicity about a particular stock, even bad, often generates much interest and activity...
Daytraders, and others of a similar mindset, tend to jump at stocks they hear are "hot", "a winner", "a sure thing", etc without really knowing nor often caring about the fundamentals of the company/stock. Experienced traders (ie. hedge funds, etc) know this very well and take full advantage of naive/greedy traders.
With such a thinly traded stock in which traded volumes are so low, investors should be very careful...they may have better luck at the casino. Acacia Technology (ACTG) minute by minute chart is very telling...
