Sponsors with an Acacia license
 

I'm curious. There's a load of threads on the boards which to be honest are mainly conjecture and/or a waste of space. Many probably have strong views but may not voice them because burning bridges is rarely a good idea. So....

If you KNOW a sponsor has an Acacia license will it affect you using them?

This isn't going to have any affect on us - Maybe we would have to stop using American servers - But I would be easy with that -

It simply amazes me how anyone made a "sound business descision" in supporting what ammounts to little more than a glorified scam.

You have a point - I could have separated EU but even so it does have an effect on us all I think. We nearly all do business with US companies whether we live there or not and if it's not fought by someone and won then it would evetually have an enormous impact on us all.

I wonder if some of the companies that did sign regret it now. There seems to be a large backlash with those that have signed. Especially with the lying of donating to Impa and accusactions of giving out info (ratting out other companies).

i would use a sponsor who told me honestly that they had signed, and who i believed did not give away our personal info - however i would send more to a sponsor who didn't sign and has contributed money or time to help invalidate that ridiculously broad patent.

Wow - not the result I expected. Given the posts in threads I expected it to be closer. Just goes to show how the majority aren't always the most vocal.

I (really) see this a**** shit - If being succesful, a bigger killer to the (american) adult industry than any other factor - Visa included.

Visa is mearly a simple result of the industry allowing "certain people" a free reign to rip credit cards off and a lack of self discipline.
A***** is due to a legal system hell bent stupididy. (A country MUST have one legal system - Not 52 differing options)!

I think, and I know I am not in the minority, that the weight of the scales for internet sales is going to leave North American shores -
I don't think this is a good thing - But it ain't too bad if it becomes a reality!

Were Acacia to be successful the Inernet landscape would change in a huge way - don't forget there are other companies waiting in line too. However, realistically it's not going to happen. The first company with the money to fight properly will win (ie probably homegrown) although it won't be cheap or quick.

Either way a fucked up system that allows this in the first place. Stills seems to me though that despite arguments to the contrary many companies haven't really thought through the effects of their actions properly. Only time will tell on that point though.
