Are domains with like 250-500 link pop worth anything and would they get any decent search engine traffic?

Yes.

Make sure you set your links up well and have em going to other domains etc.

It really all depends on where the links are coming from, you could have 250 really good links on active or busy sites and that would bring in some quality traffic. But if its something like an expired tgp with 250 links or 250 links from a table of links at the bottom of peoples pages in size 1 font, then you probally won't get jack. Research where the links are coming from, its alexa rank, and so on before you decide to buy it.
