I think everyone who received a letter in the mail
need to go here and file a complaint

"The compilation, repackaging, dissemination or other use of Whois information in its entirety, or a substantial portion thereof, is expressly prohibited without the prior written consent"

basic whois terms

Has nothing to do with it.

Accordingly, inventions involving computer programs which implement business, mathematical or other methods and do not produce any technical effects beyond the normal physical interactions between a program and the computer, network or other programmable apparatus in which it is run shall not be patentable.

I understand your intentions, but you are barking up the wrong tree with the FTC.... that's more about consumer protection.. and who says they are using WHOIS info? More likely the story of using sponsor database.. have had many webmasters contact me to really believe that is how they were found.

Acacia (stock ticker = ACTG) is a publicly traded company.. complaints of their actions in relating to securities issues (fraud, etc) should go to them.
