Thanks for asking. He's a bit sore, nothing too bad. Went yesterday and got the subs, speaker box and amp out of what's left of his car. Of the 4 nice 4 month old rims, only 1 barely unscathed so they are trashed. The body shop on an initial walkaround was already to 17K for repairs. I paid $16K for the car new 2 years ago so I know the ins. company will call it a total and likely give me about $7 or 8K for it. Next will be to see what sort of citations he ends up with from the accident, if any and then what that will do to insurance costs before I even begin looking for another car for him.

Hrmm... if you had full coverage you should get the kbb value of the car... and if his accident was like mine and he only hit a tree or smashed up a hill (in my case) then there's no citation... just a police report... the citation would have been issued at the scene! best of luck! =/

This is true. If there were to be any citations, they would have been given at the scene.

They must do things strangely in my town. The officer doing the write up said there would be a report in 72 hours and that any citations or court stuff (ie if he got charged for negligent driving, etc) would come in the mail.

Hrm... that sounds like balony to me... I'd talk to an attourney if they try to nail you with a fine or citation after the fact. Thats not legal ;)
