Tracking down the Acacia fink
something very interesting I just noticed about my letter....
the address they sent it to. It doesn't add up. I always put my address the same way on everything, yet their letter is referencing something that was changed about the actual physical address back when the community was in development. very few people here on the island even know about this. this most definately narrows the search. |
Interesting....

the things I know for certain:
1. I'm registered with most sponsors and providers, most of which I haven't logged into in well over a year. So going through each one to check my account info is impossible. I don't have the logins anymore. 2. The address they sent my package to is bizarre on two counts. They have legal info about it that virtually no one knows or could know, yet they screwed up on another part of it. 3. I've never purchased video content from anyone. 4. I don't operate any sites, hence the lack of any urls in the letter to me. where this leaves me? I'm utterly mystified. I have no fricken clue where they could have gotten my name AND this screwed up address from, nor how they came to justify sending me a letter. Not that I'm worried about it, because they've got nothing on me whatsoever..... but this is pretty damned bizarre. Do they have a bunch of 1st year paralegals down there making these decisions and drafting this shit up or what? :eek7 oh well. Life goes on. |
There is more then 1 fink company.

Have you ever bought anything from Matrix? Other people have accused them today on GFY. I have no idea, but there are several threads where people say that they think it's Matrix. Also, some people have accused CE: http://www.oprano.com/msgboard/index...=ST&f=1&t=6525 |

I'd just like to know where they got my info from is all, being that the info they have is odd. other than that, I don't have many opinions on the whole thing because I'm not in the loop. I don't have sites. |

It remindes me of "Domain Registry Of Canada" letters Canadians are/were getting. They to are just "fishing for bites" |
I'd talk to a lawyer before I tossed something sent USPS.
I know when I've sued someone or done anything legal (a foreclosure, name change, etc.), putting something in the USPS mail with proper postage was all I was legally required to do. The only time it was ever sent certified or delivered in person was when it stated a required appearance in court. Again - consult your attorney if you received this letter. |

my URL's were not listed however I did call and find out what they are, AND although I have more sites than the five they had listed...each one they had listed was listed on a license agreement with matrix on 10/14 I did also find out that Matrix's license did not mention affiliates or clients, which doesn't mean that they gave information, but I do know my information was obtained from matrix's database somehow. |

On that note they are probably getting leads from a few different avenues (including internal methods) and are just mass snail mail spamming to cast a large net and see what happens with callbacks and whatnot |
I think the butler did it

ADDRESS CORRECTION REQUESTED. They probably sent it to your old address (from a few years ago) and got the updated address from the post office. Everyone knows the post office never makes mistakes and always keeps things up to date. Especially when it comes to change of address forms/requests. Anyway thats my :2 cents: on the address glitch. |

I got this shit mail today as well... I have note used this corporate name for years and I don't think I ever, or very rarely used it when signing up for affiliates... This corporate name is however the name my licenses are registered under with Matrix.... Obviously I can't say for certain, but I havn't done any adult work/signed up for sponsors/bought any content for two years... and I have only been at this address for 2.5 years. And Matrix has both this new address of mine + the corporate name....

Here's the deal....
the street addy they used is the original LEGAL street addy when the community was being developed some 20+ years ago. During that development, it was changed inside the community. LEGALLY it's still the original name.... if you were to look it up on the city's maps it would show the name they sent it to. Now, I've never used that original name anywhere for any reason. It's not on my bank papers nor my mortgage papers nor anywhere else. How did they get it? Here's the contradictory part.... Assuming they had my name and did some sort of legal lookup verification for the street addy, (the only place I can think of where they could've gotten it) the city they sent it to is NOT legal. We have no post office here. So if they did a lookup to get the original street addy, how could they possibly put the unofficial city on it at the same time? Now.... back when I got the house, it's possible that I MAY have used that original street addy in one or maybe two places. But literally, one or two max. I just can't think of where that could be. |
