I doubt many of you have but READING Fast Times is much better than watching it.

The stories are MUCH better in words.

Yeah Sean Penn and Phoebe rock, but Camweron Crowe was long at work before that shit came around.

And so far, NO ONE has been able to do what he did and infiltrate a school as a fake student and get to know so many individuals the way he did.

Again not that many of you will even know but Cameron Crowe is the guy who even wrote Vanilla Sky, he is very talented and deserves LITERARY acceptance and not just respect because his books become films.

He is an awesome writer as anyone who knows Vanilla Sky and Fast Times can easily see how talented he is.

What many people do not know is that the book was inspired by a rolling stone artilcle he had written.

Cameron Crowe is in my own opinion one of the great American storytellers of the modern day.

Almost Famous his semi auto-biographical film was withoput a doubt one of my favorite films ever. it is a seamless journey that was brilliantly written direscted and acted.

his wif Nancy did the score for the film and she was once in a little band called heart with sister Anne

i actually had a date take me to see that movie on big screen when it came out..way back when... he even bought me a shirt that said "awesome" on it......my whoredom started earlier than what i thougt..

I agree that Crowe is wonderful but don't give him too much credit on Vanilla Sky. Yes, he did work on the screenplay for the English language version but it was simply based on an already existant movie called Abre los ojos (Open Your Eyes) which was written by Alejandro Amenábar and Mateo Gil..they are also credited on the English language.

This I will give him - his use of music in films is second only to John Hughes as far as modern film making goes.

ahh, heart..the band with one of the sexiest BBW rock chicks of all time...and they are still together and touring. 'Crazy' is a spectacular song.

I was not fan of Vanilla Sky...I thought his idea for a remake was bad from the beginning..I thought he was trying to be a little Kubrik and it just came off as an unfinished project made to appeal to the dick wads here in L.A. who like to talk about film like they are some sort of high itellect hipster

Vanilla Sky was weird for me as a viewer. When I saw it in the cinema I spent the whole time when it was actually playing trying to work out if I liked it. Then the longer that passed afterwards the more I liked it. I think my brain was slotting things into place. I've heard other people say that too. I think Cruise is the weakest part and it would have been better with an actor who wasn't doing 'hey look at me I am Tom Cruise trying to prove I can act' and Cruz had too much trouble with the language ..she is better in her native language.

I like brainy, confusing movies but I have to admit it was hard work. Glad I saw it though. My hubby didn't last 15 minutes because he can't sit and actually watch things and sometimes you have to give a film your full concentration.
