Is it Kosher to?????????????????????

Buy Acacia stock, then sign the license being a large program owner? A few people have done this, even bragged about it on the boards. Seems like a desperate and stupid move to me. SEC?

One thing to settle, on a business level. But another to lay with the dogs and get fleas.

Since when is acacia competition? Seems like an ignorant statement.

Sly_RJ 10-22-2003 02:29 PM

I don't think the SEC would be too happy about that. Isn't that a federal crime?

boneprone 10-22-2003 02:30 PM

Brad, are you just sore you didnt get in early or that the little bird didnt fly your way with the info??

I got some investments for ya.

Its called bet on the Yankees tonight.

NaughtyJenn 10-22-2003 02:30 PM

buddyjuf 10-22-2003 02:31 PM

as someone previously said

money vs. morals

boneprone 10-22-2003 02:31 PM

Actaully it will be fun to see the SEC step in here soon.

I dont see how they wont.

Its clear whats happening.

BradShaw 10-22-2003 02:31 PM

Believe it or not, I have some morals and business ethics. Buying Acaccia stock has never crossed my mind. I would also be concerned of the legal consequences, as I get some "insider" info and know of some licenses before the are announced.

Brad, you can trust Acacia + some of these companies they are "partnering" with are your competition.

If it's not apparent now, it will be in the future.

I would think it qualifies as insider trading.

---i.e.,

Big porn company is in non-public negotiations w/ Acacia, gets the sweetheart deal, buys stock prior to settlement being made public, maybe even convinces other big porn co.s to settle...

Settlement PR goes out, stock jumps- looks like trading on insider info.

I'm sure the SEC would be all over this like a cheap suit.

Yeah! Martha needs company!

An interesting discussion about insider trading, with law cites. Concerns linux and the SCO, but might be a good read for some of you.

Start down at "Rule 10b5-1 - Trading "on the Basis of" Material Nonpublic Information":

Somebody certainly did on September 4th-
2.5M shares traded hands on that day and it was up from there:
