Senate passes legislation to ban what critics call "partial-birth" abortion. President Bush has said he will sign bill.

The bill defines partial birth abortion as delivery of a fetus "until, in the case of a headfirst presentation, the entire fetal head is outside the body of the mother, or, in the case of the breech presentation, any part of the fetal trunk past the navel is outside the body of the mother for the purpose of performing an overt act that the person knows will kill the partially delivered living fetus."

"This is like a breech delivery. The entire infant is delivered except the head. A scissors is jammed into the base of the skull. A tube is inserted into the skull, and the brain is sucked out. The now-dead infant is pulled out."

I think it is a bunch of right wing hogwash. How many of these are performed in the US each year? Under 1000? Under 250? This isn?t a procedure that is done generally in an abortion clinic it is a procedure that done in a hospital. Unfortunately, there is no exception for rape, incest or even when the mother's life is in danger that I know of. What happens now when a woman is told late in term that a medical complication will make it unlikely that she will survive giving birth. What is she supposed to do just die?

Generally abortions aren't allowed past the first trimester, and second trimester are dangerous and not recommended at all as far as I've known. This kind of abortion is absolutely GROTESQUE, and I've never seen it before. Horrid.. I will have to do some research now, but man, it's sick.

I generally disagree with abortion except with special cases. Abortion as a form of birth control is exceedingly stupid and irresponsible. This form of abortion is BUTCHERY. Ugh.

It's called a morning after pill. Why should they wait to get an abortion once a fetus is formed? Take the morning after pill and prevent implantation.
