Acacia announcing quarterly results tomorrow, are you selling or buying?

My guess is they will show more than the $25,000 income that they had last quarter but still be burning cash.

Seems to me that this is a good time to take profits. What do you think?

chri$tian 10-21-2003 10:07 AM

Bought 1000 shares yesterday at $7.45, crossing my fingers...

Madball 10-21-2003 10:25 AM

Yea good buy dude. An entire company based on vaporware with a market cap of 150 Million and they have yet to earn a single cent.

It's always been like this: Long term... the numbers do the talking.

triumph 10-21-2003 10:36 AM

that fucking stock keeps on climbing, I wonder how many people will buy today, hoping the stock will do well tommorrow?

I think the stock will do well tommorrow!

LOL Buying the stock doesn't give them more money unless their insiders sell and re-invest into the business. Since none of their insiders have done anything but buy for the last 9 months and the company has ~$30 million in the bank I don't think I'd gamble on them selling yet.

rooster 10-21-2003 11:22 AM

the acacia stock reminds me of a pets.com or furniture.com So overvalued its funny.

I bet their revenue will be around 50,000 for the third quarter.

Bermans salary is probably more than that for a month.

A phantom stock.

FightThisPatent 10-21-2003 11:31 AM

For those thinking of buying, let me remind you the basic rule of investing:

Buy low, sell high.

The second rule is know/understand they stock you are buying.

If you are going to buy-in at $7+... do you really think the stock will double to $14?

Unless you are going to dump alot of money in and just cash out on a marginal profit, it's unrealistic to think that a company post-dotbomb, will have a high stock price with no significant revenue.

This stock is clearly being pumped up by the day traders, and is so speculative, that a market correction (ie. bad news about the company and its patent claims), will deflate the stock so fast that your automatic sell points will do no good.. thus losing all of your money.

Berman and 2 other top executive officers make over $200K-$250K per year.... not to mention any bonuses, etc...

There's your burn rate, combined with 11 defendants.....and having to deal with those issues, just makes the burn rate faster.

I'm guessing it will go down a bit more tommorow after they release their 3rd quarter results.

But who knows. I don't have any ACTG though.

wonder why they didn't release the results first, and then have the call?

BRISK 10-21-2003 12:02 PM

invest it in your business by becoming a member to IMPA ($100/year) and make a $100 pledge to Fight the Patent Foundation. Take the rest of the money and buy yourself and your loved ones a special present.

Because if these patent abuse cases get their way, you will have less money in your pocket to invest or to be buying people gifts.
